I understand your point but that isn’t relevant to the recruiting.
I’ve said many time I’m totally against NIL for amateur athletes and you can’t get more capitalist then I am. But if the rules are there you have to take advantage of it if you want championships consistently. That’s just the reality of the situation. And you can’t expect the 1% at the top to foot every expense of the athletes. Facilities, coaches, etc

JLee posted some updates
- DeAndre Carter is expected to stick with AU. He communicated a lot with the staff on Sunday
- Martavious Collins is not expected to stick. He could decommit soon

I just checked. He is only a 3* (whew!) that lives in a city called Pittsburg with no H. Bye felicia.

I'm far more concerned about keeping carter. That guy is one of the most talented lineman we've signed on the offensive side in the last decade. Yes, it's been that long.

Do we have a higher rated replacement?
Posted on 10/2/23 at 9:02 am to Poker Dough
I heard jlee and company talking about maybe Deal and Frazier coming back for a covid year last night. Could it be possible that we are turning him loose to sign higher rated guys since that position isn't the same need as others right now? Not sure

Or maybe we’re flipping that Bama guy?
Edit: oh wait. This is the Bama guy I was thinking of. Apparently he already flipped to us

You overlook the power of that small subscription x however many small donating subscribers. It makes a difference and is right now.
Why do you think streaming services exist and market to everyday users? Small monthly subscription adds up real fast.

Odom and Amir Jackson were there, but I'm not sure how committed they are to Bama and Florida. Signing one of those guys would be a huge plus. We created an amazing environment the other day, and have kids ALOT to think about.

How about we just tell anyone with a 247/On3 subscription change their subscription to the NIL instead?
Posted on 10/2/23 at 9:14 am to Weagle25
You're more than welcome to suggest anything you please. Some can do both from what I understand.

I don’t really care what people do with their money just seems like a more probable request than getting people to cut Netflix like Corch is suggesting

I personally wouldn't tell anyone to cut stuff. I would just ask people to consider and leave it at that.
I am not the budget police dude.
Also, I missed corch doing that.

Here's where I differ in my NIL philosophy:
If the baws don't wanna pay, don't blame them, not everyone can be a bagmen

Is Tim Cook one of our boosters?

I don't blame anyone for not wanting to contribute or give extra when they have bills and daily expenses, just don't complain when we get beat out for recruits or can't keep up. Nobody on this board is wealthy or connected to oil money, but considering how much Auburn being good or bad has affected my Sat entertainment I'll make a SMALL sacrifice.

Corch didn’t suggest cutting Netflix corch said cut a 6 pack out a week. Or whatever dumb vice some of us may have.
The point is we either want to play the game or we don’t. Others will and we will be on the outside looking in bitching about losses piling up to Texas, Texas A&M, Florida, UTk, Okie, Bama and UGa. They will all play the game

Alumnus. Not sure he put any money back into the university. Especially on the sports side. However if I were OTV I would reach out and just ask if they would provide just a small package of products for each scholarship athlete.
iPhone, iPad, MacBook, air buds, Apple TV. Drop in the bucket for Tim Cook. Probably would add up at his cost to somewhere around 2k, and less then 4K retail for each athlete.
Kids like shite like that. Hell we got a recruit over Clemson a few years ago because of chic fil a
