So I generally don't pay a ton of attention during the spring.

What's our projected OL look like?

I wish Coleman and Young had come back and I'd have a ton of confidence in this group.

I assume we will be strong on the interior with Kozan and Golson but what about tackle? Is Smith projected to move outside? If so who takes his spot inside? The transfer from Texas?

Is Leff pretty much def gonna start?

Randy, I think it will be a mixture of this

QB - Jeremy Johnson
RB - Jovon Robinson
HB - Chandler Cox
LT - Austin Golson?
LG - Alex Kozan
C - Dampeer?
RG - Braden Smith
RT - James? Left?
WR - Tony Stevens
WR - Marcus Davis
WR/WB - Jason Smith

This is Gus playing all the seniors and upper classmen despite younger players being more talented...

Not really sure. Im a little like Randy in, I am not sure who the OL will be. Looks like Golson has moved to Tackle. Damper will certainly be in the middle and we are pretty sure Smith and Kozan at Gurard. The other tackle spot is the one I am not sure about

Leff or James maybe?

Willing to bet Herb Hand is picking the OL starters and not Gus.

Leaving spring here were the starters

LT - Austin Golson
LG - Alex Kozan
C - Xavier Dampeer
RG - Braden Smith
RT - Robert Leff

Really the only battle this spring will be between Leff & Texas transfer Darius James. From all reports James has the higher upside but is not very consistent. More than likely Leff will be starting at RT. The guy to watch as well is Mike Horton. He has moved inside but could compete with James for that 6th OL spot when we like to use a guy at TE like Leff has been past 2 seasons

Hopefully we get some snaps for that redshirt freshman class of Kim/Harrell/Sharp/Horton/Carr this season because we could lose all 5 OL this season but for sure we will lose 3

Curious what younger players you think are more talented? I am guessing you are saying talent = *'s & even so most of those guys were highly rated including Jeremy. Really outside of Leff & Dampeer both of which have lots of experience all those listed above were at least a 4* which are what the majority of the younger guys are as well

FYI the 1s on ADay were

QB - Sean White
RB - Jovon Robinson
FB - Chandler Cox
TE - Landon Rice
WR - Marcus Davis
WR - Ryan Davis
LT - Austin Golson
LG - Alex Kozan
C - Xavier Dampeer
RG - Braden Smith
RT - Robert Leff

That's a good mix of youth & experience

Will Carr ever get any playing time? I saw him at church this morning and he just doesn't look big enough. He has good height, but if I was to guess he looks around 290. Looks like he needs to gain about 15-20 pounds.

Is there any other explanation for Tony Stephens being a starting WR this year? Nope.

Curious on who you think should? Also hasn't been named starter. He is one of the most experienced returning wide outs and a former 4*. Who has shown more besides a shiny star rating?

I think he believes we should totally start a true freshman who has never even seen our playbook.

You know. Because he is a 5* guy

I will say if those guys (the true frosh) aren't ready to play we will have about as underwhelming a receiving corps as is possible to imagine*.

*Based on what those guys have shown so far in their careers. Hopefully it finally clicks for one or two of them but thus far there hasn't even been much reason for that optimism.

I agree and I am as excited as anyone to see NCM and the other high recruits play, I would like to see Stevens and Davis be good now.

Both have been in our system a few years and know everything about it. The biggest issue with the young freshmen will be perimeter blocking. As important as that is in our system, it takes a little time to get it down

Stevens should be ready. If he's not, he never will be

New Lanier posted his line projected starting lineup. I commented on it. Why is this so hard to follow? If Gus starts Tony Stephens then he is showing favorites towards upper classmen. Stephens has no business being in the starting lineup.

I do agree with his OL though
Golson
Kozan
Xavier
Smith
Leff/Texas transfer
