The biggest thing I can say as long as you're signing a contract guaranteeing X time and Y money then go for it. If its not set you're bearing the risk, frick it. The pasture isn't always greener on the other side. Savannah is nice but from what I know crime is spreading.

I know Mobile, family is from there, in fact I am headed down tomorrow. I've not spent a ton of time in Savannah, but I do have friends there, and it actually reminds me of Mobile. I think you'd like it. You could rent a cheap place for a couple months and go try it out. Wait to sell your Mobile joint (assuming you own it) until you're sure. Best of luck.

They are thanking me in downvotes apparently. Can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not either

Savannah is awesome. Lots of good restaurants and a ton of history. Quite a few haunted homes in old town, and many a pirate was said to have spent time there.
No Mardi Gras, but they do St. Patrick’s like no other.
They have a lot of nature and sea life all over the islands. When I was at GSU, we spent many weekends on Tybee Island. But there are many other islands as well depending on your tastes and bank account.

I am from Mobile and live in Daphne now. I also lived in Savannah for 3 years. Your biggest concern will probably be schools. I would start your research there. As others have said, they are very similar towns with the river and proximity to the beach. Savannah definitely holds the advantage with attractions, history, and old south charm.

Well I wish you the best in your decision

I’ve moved a good bit, and I’ll say that I’ve never regretted a move, I just have a stronger preference for certain places.
People are people, even w the political leanings of certain regions, they aren’t quite as different as you’d think (or at least you can find people you like in any lrg enough city). The real difference to me is the community offerings, weather and such

Living in the same place is okay. Depends on the place. Metro areas have so much to offer with new things coming around all the time. I moved from Butler, AL to Greensboro, NC after college.
Sucks to live 650 miles from your family, but it was the best choice I ever made. I got married and started a family here.
When I did it, I was planning on coming here for a few years experience and then move back down closer, but I absolutely love this area.
I'm a big golfer. Greensboro has tons of good courses, then I have Pinehurst an 1 1/2 hours away, and Myrtle Beach golf 3 hours away. Actually going down next week to Myrtle for a golf trip. Playing TPC and Caledonia.

I have moved over 25 times in my life. Some were great experiences a couple weren't. New areas can be a lot of fun. Getting a leg up in your career is also pretty good as you can then build on that. Never be afraid of taking a risk.

Haha yeah I guess that’s their branding. The dudes that own and operate it are South African. There’s no indoor seating but they’ve got a patio around the side. Almost always a line, but it’s worth it
