So you don't like the Lashlee hire?
What is so great about the Lashlee hire? Neither he nor Gus have proven they can develop a QB. Neither have proven they can scout a QB for their syatem.

WTF is that?
j/k but to answer your question, didn't CGM scout Cam? and really how much do any of us know to what extent Chizik's control was on CGM's offense, recruiting and development of the players including the QB position? Only time will tell but I'm as optimistic as you are negative it seems.

You say his scouting sucked but you are judging his scouting off a pro system that his scouts played in this year. Somewhat unfair judgement of Malzahn if you ask me.

So basically you are saying "We could have done worse?"

I did not say at Auburn. I said he has never developed a QB, which meant throughout his college career. He has not. All the successful QBs he had were seniors that he inherited.

Cam?

Cam?
Oh wow, one exception that played a year of Juco. Yeah we are going to find a Heisman QB hiding in JUCO again.
Plus gus said himself that he did not even know what cam could do until like 4 games into the season.

quote:He's never stayed anywhere long enough to get that opportunity. He was at Arkansas for a year, Co-OC at Tulsa for 2 years, Auburn for 3, and ASU for one. So saying that he hasn't developed one completely is unfair to argue because he's never been anywhere long enough to develop one. He could've had his chance at Auburn but he caught lightning in a bottle with Cam in the middle of the 3 years and that essentially broke the entire process.

Who would you look to have seen at Auburn that is a quality developer of QB's?
I don't care who is QB if we run like we did when Gus first got here. I could easily see Auburn having (2) 1000 yard rushers with the kids we have.

Well, considering Gus' coaching tenures in college and the actual number of QBs he has signed, 1 is a pretty big number. You said that he hasn't developed any of his QBs that he has recruited, and for the most part that is true. But honestly it's only true because he hasn't had the time to develop his own QBs. His longest tenure in college was 3 years at Auburn (prior to that, he had a year at Arky, 2 at Tulsa).

I don't even count year three for Gus at Auburn. Only time we saw his true play calling was the Clemson and Virginia games.
