I hope the basketball team isn’t scrimmaging today. They need some rest!

Totally forgot about spring practice. I guess that's what happens at a #basketballschool

That's big. Has Gus ever done this, or done this, this early?

This is amazing. We had spring scrimmage and no one is talking about it. Usually this time of the year that is all that is discussed.

Perfect storm. Our media is not focused on spring practices. Gus is probably basking in the inattention . And fans have a historic shooty hoops run to sustain us. Hell, even Gus said he’d be at the basketball game Sunday

YouTube- Gus on scrimmage
— Malzahn: Overall, it was very good and we got a lot of good information as coaches.
— The scrimmage was 91 plays. The quarterbacks went live. The goal was to get each quarterback 20 reps. According to Malzahn, they came very close to accomplishing that.
— Coaches decided early in the week to let the QBs go live. Malzahn: Just felt like it was very important we did that. Malzahn: “We learned some things ... and got some good information on film.”
— Malzahn on the QBs: “There were some mistakes made.” QBs had some zone-reads they did and they also took some shots down the field.
— There wasn’t anyone held out of the scrimmage injury-wise. The first-team guys got 25 to 30 snaps.
— There was only one fumble today, Malzahn said.
— Overall, they were vanilla with play-calling on both offense and defense.
— All of the quarterbacks got equal reps with the ones, twos and threes.
— Malzahn praised redshirt junior wide receiver Marquis McClain as a guy that’s taken a step forward and made some plays this spring. Was also complimentary of Sal Cannella and Seth Williams out of the wide receiver group. Referred to Eli Stove as the leader of the receiver group.

247 notes from Caldwell:
-Gatewood started the scrimmage with the first team (all QBs split equal reps) followed by Willis, Bo, and Cord.
-Nix has a big TD pass to McClain. Cord also led a TD drive.
- Whitlow has a good day. Sounds like Joiner was versatile out of the backfield and made a few plays.
- OP rotated in the first string group of Linebackers
- First team defense was dominant. Noah Ig had an interception and another deflection

One day he’s going to say something different. Just you wait, and wait, and wait, and wait and see.

Iggy is going to be all SEC this year. I’m sold on him

Big off-season and year coming up for him. His elite athleticism has covered some issues stemming from his inexperience at the position. And he’s been really good despite that

Wonder about the offensive line.
Moultry is not moving to lb. Coe is now at buck and big cat is on the strong side. When Coe takes a breather, who are we gonna backfill with, Siposs? I know he is a feisty Aussie, but might be a stretch. Im kidding but I do hope Jibunor has put on some weight this off season, he showed some flashes last year but he was only 215 pounds.

Nazir Stackhouse, a Georgia DL commit that we are trying to flip watched the QBs practice Saturday lol....Gatewood hype train is soon to take off.
“At practice, Stackhouse didn’t watch the defensive line as much as you’d think. A lot of his focus was on the quarterbacks.
“Coach said (Joey Gatewood) is closest to Cam Newton so I wanted to look at him more,” Stackhouse said. “I think he’s good.””

Can anybody with an Athletic account quote this article for me?
Nothing new really. QBs rotates equally. Boobie had some big runs in scrimmage and between him, KMart, and Shivers they will be ok. Joiner played RB most scrimmage it seems like, but they want him on field in some capacity
