The rent on that place has to be ridiculous. No place last longer than a year it seems

So were the employees. They closed one night, the owner took all the tvs and a bunch of other shite, and left.

Employees showed up for work the next day, and found out the place was gone.

I hear some new seafood place(shrimp basket) opened at the cursed location in Auburn where Hooters and that pink place used to be. They have several locations including one in Gulf Shores. Any good? Its hard to find good seafood anywhere unless you are on the coast.

I'm cautious of any seafood this far from the coast personally. The place out on 14 is good, but I'm not expecting Shrimp Basket to be on that level.

You think all seafood place near the coast get thier seafood fresh out of the water? Hate to break it to you, but most of that is grown in farms just like it was if you were getting it in Iowa.

That's why you ask what's fresh and local. I hate a majority of frozen seafood. Shrimp Basket is a chain along the coast. I've heard pretty decent things about the one in Mobile. I'm sure it's better than most of the seafood places in the Auburn area.

Most do and know how to cook better seafood than places farther away from the coast. At least in my experience.

Why? Transportation has gotten so efficient that as long as you are decently close to a big city, seafood will be about as fresh as on the coast.

I use to work at a fish market in bham, the fish you get there is damn close to what you get on the coast, it just does t have the aspect of being on the coast. Look at shrimp, for some reason people still think they eat never frozen shrimp when they are on the coast. All shrimp are frozen unless you buy it from a guy that goes out each morning. Restaurant shrimp are all frozen.

I never get shrimp in restaurants because I'm always disappointed. If I can't get them fresh and boiled then they're not worth it.

That I can respect. I just can't stand people who think they are eating non frozen shrimp when they dirt get it from the small vendor on the shore who goes out each morning. Even TE fresh shrimp on the coast is frozen on the boats for a couple of days because they go shrimping for a week at a time.

Being from New Orleans vs living in Bham now...its hard to agree. At least I havent found a restaurant with outstanding seafood. Granted, it is Bham and not New Orleans.
