Why? The most points that team gave up was 30 in a win against the SEC champion UGA.

Most blame him for the GaTech loss. But Cox threw 4 picks in that game because wanted to be pass-happy with the WRS that returned.

Honk if you sacked Brodie happened under Gibbs.

Hell naw. If he is the best that we can get, we have sunken to an all time low.

This thread was just trying to hype itself up over a guy because he had work with Bucky Freeze.

Meanwhile Gibbs was hired by Tubs to run the D. And Gibbs spent most of the last decade in the NFL.

Does anyone feel like Gus would attend an SEC coaches luncheon and have no one to talk to?

It just seems right now he has no connections or pedigree to bring in any DC of worth (a problem that should've been evident when we hired him).

Seems like an overreaction seeing as he's hired muschamp and ellis Johnson in the past

I don't doubt he could get a big DC but I think the DC can see his future is up in the air.

I'll admit, I admire your unwavering optimism, but you've yet to post anything of worth. Who do you want to see as our new DC? What're your thoughts on the current state of the program? Why and what evidence do you have to say you believe Gus will turn it around (pointing to the 2013 is a weak reason BTW)?

A big reason Gus was able to sign EJ and WM was because they were just fired as HC's and wanted to coach somewhere else immediately to improve their stock. This worked for WM.

A bigger factor was that during the hire with both coaches, the regression of the program wasn't nearly as apparent. EJ came on for Gus's debut, so there was really nothing for him to go off of. WM came on after we showed some promise in 2014 with high expectations in 2015.

I don't think he needs to get a big name necessarily. He just needs to get the right fit. A good coach that teaches and demands good fundamentals. That coach may be at a small school right now. Chizik was at UCF when we hired him. He was a pretty good DC. I really hope that he gets this right for his sake.

I have absolutely no problem with this. If Gus gets the offense clicking and we get a good fundamentals type of guy, we might actually keep a DC for a whole cycle of players. If Gus does not, then a small school guy would not have the tremendous buyout we have now.

I am still ok with Lance at this point, tbh. He has experience and he is familiar with the players.

There will be no Ruffin
So you be buffin'
So there's a chance
That it be Lance
Gustav will be callin'
So Lance be ballin'

It seems like yesterday
Muschamp was on his way.
But by mid seasons end
It was clear Jeremy could not contend.

This whole search is a joke.
Our AD has made auburn broke.
It's time to part ways.
I've been drinking so this is all a haze.

I don't know why Randy Shannon hasn't been mentioned much?

Two names that you should keep an eye on:

Tyson Summers
Tom Allen
