Much like Bama, we don't lose to those teams when we're good

Posted something along these lines on Teh Rant a while back, but I'll repeat it here:

1) MSU is 4-39-1 against AU/API in years when we have 7 or more total wins (including bowls) on the season. Exceptions were 1963, 1997, 2000 and 2007.

2) Ole Miss is 1-23 against AU/API in years when we have 7 or more total wins on the season. Exception was 2003.

3) AU/API has never lost to both MS schools in a season where we have 7 or more total wins.

Yes, we've had some tough games against both teams, but we never get less than a split when we're at least mediocre, and almost always go 2-0 against them when we're good.

That 2003 ole miss game should've been a win... if not for obomanu dropping the game winning TD.

At Bama, UGA, OM, MSU, and KSU is nothing to scoff at but we should be very good and go 5-0 on that stretch.

MSU is after LSU and OM is after USC...two tough home games followed by two rough road games.

Damn, I forgot about that! If I remember correctly, we were the only SEC team Eli Manning hadn't beaten in his career at that point.

Not to be a debbie douchebag, but isn't the whole point of the Auburn Sports Board so we didn't have to have a thread like this?

Bama beat writers are hired and required to live and breath crimson.

Auburn beat writers are required to be "impartial".

Updated rosters are out and Brandon Fulse is 6'4 272. That's about 20lbs heavier than he was previously listed. He looked good in the spring game. Maybe we can get him some goal line carries

PM has a starting Dline of:

DE Gabe
DT Blackson / Bradley
DT Whittaker / Adams
DE Owens

More notes from PM.

WOuldn't be surprised to see some juniors make the jump to the NFL with good seasons.

Thinks DQ and Sammie definitley gone.

Thinks Coleman stays

Believes Avery Young will start (may be at guard or tackle)

Thinks Therezie has a big year in special teams esp. punt returner.

Doesn't think Roc or PB "take over" but they should contribute"

Lawson things he'll be ready for 1st game. PM says mid-season earliest.

A lot more depth in the secondary.

Ford, Moncrief, King, Holsey ect..

Holsey is healthy but staff will probably take it easy on him.

per AUC

PM also said from talking to coaches he feels Trovon Reed has NFL potential at CB.

I was a bit surprised PM left Elijah Daniel off the starters list. IMO it will be

DE - Elijah
DT - Blackson
DT - Gabe
DE - Owens

Trovon Reed should have been playing CB from day 1. He dominated at CB during his Allstar game out of HS. Kid can straight up ball at CB and never was able to trust cutting up field after his knee injury. THanks Chizik for fricking over TReed

Blackson has the athletic ability to be dominant. Kid just had trouble adjusting to new scheme and hand placement last year. Monty is going to be a stud who rotates in but he still is in the process of remaking his body which is why he dropped so much weight this offseason.

Can't wait for him to be in fighting shape

I can definitely see Monty starting as well, but I have to give the slightest of edge to Black son due to experience...I think Monty will play just as much, possibly even more overall

I believe it about Trovon. After seeing him not do shite against Clemson in 2010 I wanted him to switch to DB. I remember reading his scouting report coming out of HS how he was a natural DB, natural hips and instincts and able to keep up with anybody in coverage. Even though people expected him to be an electric playmaker at WR, people. said he was a better DB than anything in high school. I'm a little worried about his tackling, playing exclusively offense for years now and idk if he has the demeanor to hit people every play.
