How do blitzes just pour in over and over?

It was not like they were bringing 6 or 7.

Because we have no idea how to run a screen or quick slant.

The lack of bubble screens, quick curls, etc is baffling and it has been that way for the better part of a decade. Every pass play is long developing. Weven the drag routes we never actually throw when they are open. I don’t think the OL played well, but Thorne not seeing the blitz and getting the ball out or just staring down one receiver, did them no favors.

In the 2nd half, after a couple of successful run plays we'd try to mix it up with a pass play and Cal was immediately in the backfield which killed the drive. Happened three times in a row. Easily telegraphed playcall? Thorne not seeing the blitz? OL failure? All three?

Give our shiny WR’s a couple of these a game and let them work. It’s not rocket science!

They threw them plenty at Ole Miss and Liberty. I have no idea why we don’t. They help keep safeties and LB having to keep an eye outside. They were open plenty when we had three to a side.

Hell, run a RB screen, a TE inside screen, a tunnel screen. Just one here or there.
