I know it’s al.com, but nonetheless, a pretty good article about the camps some of our players are putting on!

I'm going to read too far into Shivers, Smoke, and Pappoe wanting to team up with TJ Finley for their camp and overreact

“40 year decision.” Crossed fingers

*The entire Miami Hurricanes football roster is now endorsed.
*The U announced a program for all former student athletes to receive royalties.
*Oh, Coach Likens has put WRs in the First RD of the NFL Draft. #Developed

This is pretty cool.

Nick Saban is talking at the Texas HS Coaches Association convention today. He was asked about NIL. Apparently, Bryce Young is doing quite well.

“Our QB has already approached ungodly numbers, and he hasn’t even played yet. If I told you what it is … it’s almost 7-figures."

I'd take this with a grain of salt, it is in Saban's interest to lie about this.

... not so sure it's absurd

What's all the NC's worth to them?

I don't know why he would disclose that. I can't wait to see the dysfunction across the country with players getting mad at not getting their "cut"

NIL will kill college sports

Why wouldn't he? Sounds like a pretty big recruiting pitch: "My school offers more $ in endorsements/sponsorships than any other school"

You couldn’t get me to stop talking about it. He’s telling every recruit that his QB, yet to start a game, is closing in on being a millionaire.

Players (varies state to state) are allowed to hire an agent for NIL purposes.

Alabama’s NIL law allows players to obtain representation by a licensed agent or lawyer in good standing with the Alabama State Bar

(thanks)

And how about getting paid while in HS?

A 7' basketball phenom for instance. I'm sure there's some mamma's who'd like to cash in. A Gatorade for instance... seven figures talk lou.

The Alabama NIL law definition of student athlete doesn’t extend to high school players

Oh I don't disagree. I just think that's very different from divulging specifics.

If I was an athlete getting paid, I think I would try to keep the amounts confidential to an extent.

And maybe Nicks upping the ante.

Letting everyone know door's wide open, the water's very deep, and you'll need a checkbook not wallet if you're shopping around here.

All of these deals have to be reported to the schools (agents have to be disclosed too) so they’re all subject to FOIA requests. He could keep them secret for now but it’s just a matter of time before we find out.

We’re hearing about deals for state of Florida athletes because their FOIA mandates a quick turnover and is enforced. Alabama’s has little oversight, no penalty and no deadline So who knows when
