Bill Clark may or may not be a good coach in the SEC. I don't know.

But if he is hired and retains any assistants from Gus's staff then I'm going to re-melt because I'll know exactly why he was hired.

Here is the problem. Everything being said on this board at this point is so ticky-tack, back-and-forth and none of the points made are convincing on EITHER side of the Clark debate.

We should have a home run hire that everyone is on board with. It’s a shame man.

And we shouldn’t be turned down by someone making 880,000 a year. We are not Memphis.

Speaking of Rane and his coaching accomplishments.. When I dared to question to Bot on 247 PM came back at me with their credentials and he listed Rane's coaching experience lol. One of the dumbest things he's ever said.

When those assholes fired Gus, they should have had an agreement with a big time coach.

I'm not sure if they had no plan or Steele was the plan (basically no plan).

We look more and more pathetic each day that this dumpster fire of a coaching search rages on...

Never said any different but at the end of the day it’s not Steele and Bill Clark has ability. I’m gonna continue to watch Auburn football just in case something special happens bc I love it. All of y’all #StopClark bros should just delete your accounts and not watch another football game since the big bad boosters must be stopped and that’s the only way to do it. Or are y’all talking out your asses and aren’t as strong in your convictions as y’all are making yourselves out to be? Support Clark if he’s hired bc he’s been a good ball coach throughout his career or ship out.

Yeah, that's the thing. At this point, a ridiculously large percentage of Auburn fans aren't going to accept any coaches back. We've finally reached that point.

At some point some of you need to come to the realization that we've been turned down by everyone else so this idea that we can do better than Clark or Brown or Steele doesn't fit the reality that we are living in. It's counter productive to take it out on Clark because he isn't who you would choose. He may very well be the only one who would say yes. shite show? frick yes it is but we're aiming our hatred at the wrong crowd imo

This would resonate more if I was supporting Kevin Steele

Wrong.

Let’s retrace the frickups by AU BOT so you’ll get it

-AU BOT signs off on a $50mil 7 yr deal for Gus
-Gus doesn’t even make it halfway through
-AU now owes $21mil to Gus, and doesn’t have a replacement
-AU BOT tries to hire Steele
-AU may/may not have fricked up the Cristobal hiring
-AU BOT fricks up the Napier hire via forcing coaches on his staff, Napier bails
-And now since the AU BOT has fricked this up so bad, they’re resorting to Clark, who was never a serious candidate.

And you’re still telling us just to be quiet and just accept this. Yikes.

If this dumbass decision goes though I'll support the players, but yes man Clark and kick rocks and I won't spend a dime on Auburn.

Or we keep going until the BoT and PTB realize they have completely fricked the situation and finally agree to step back so we can start the real coaching search.

KN posted about a top college OC being interested and not even being contacted about an interview. The whole process has been and continues to be BS.

I’m pissed as hell at us fricking up the Cristobal and Napier hires too, I’ve never said any different but at the end of the day Bill Clark has a coaching resume I believe can translate to success Auburn and I won’t be misplacing any of my aggression towards him.

I could not agree more but is any of that Clarks fault? If he is hired taking shots at him only hurts the program.

Here's the truth, If we hired Napier, ULL would have never interviewed Clark. Auburn is the ONLY school interested...why is that?

It's Bill Clark's fault that as a HS coach at Prattville, he did everything in his power to steer his players away from Auburn. He can go frick himself. Now you want to make his career here at Auburn? He can sit his arse at UAB and wait for Bama to open up and come calling - which will never happen of course because the idea of an actual SEC program calling him up is comical.

I don't expect it. I also don't expect to just sit back and take the BS that going on either. There's a reason the NFL is only hiring offensive minds and special teams coaches as HCs right now.. anyone hiring a defensive minded HC is getting left behind plain and simple.

Tell me how Bill Clark is going to win a recruiting battle against Saban, Smart, Mullen, Fisher, O, or Kiffin?

And again as someone asked a few pages what.. what other jobs has he been up for so far?

Now you’re talking about shite you could possibly never know. I’m not sure why Clark hasn’t gotten any other P5 interviews and I’m not gonna act like I do. And it’s all speculation at this point. It is weird but I don’t think it means as much as y’all do. It could be something as simple as it’s a known fact in the coaching world that Clark doesn’t want to leave the state. He could’ve been asked to interview and turned those opportunities down. I’m not gonna waste my time on pure speculation. Bill Clark has done an incredible job at UAB and I see no concrete reason that couldn’t translate at Auburn so I’ll support him. Is it the most exciting hire? No. Do I think he can compete in the West? Maybe.
