Adams over Sims all day long.

What is crazy about that line is I believe they were like this coming out of HS:

quote:

Marks 2*
Sims 4*
Thompson Walk-on
Groves 4*

Compare that with our DL this year (base lineup I guess:

Daniel 5*/4*
Blackson 3*
Adams 5*
Wright 4*

Obviously we need more dreadlocks on our DL.

Daniel
Not sure what to think of him. He has great size and movement, but does not look very aggressive.

quote:

Blackson
Looks like he could penetrate deep and then derp at point of contact or the ball carrier was just out of his reach. The guy looks to be able to dominate at times and others gets swallowed up.

quote:

Adams
Is the only one that shows great promise and domination ability.

quote:

Wright
Flashes and then disappears.

Does the scheme and coaching play a part in this? I am not versed enough to say on either, but that is a lot of talent that didn't do much other than Adams.

I remember when Rivals tried to sneak one up on all of the recruiting junkies. They had him as a 2 star when he signed with Auburn, then changed him to a 4 star when he got drafted into the NFL.

Exactly. I mean Adams and Daniel still have plenty of time to develop. That was a all senior line in 07 I think or at least mostly. This year was pretty old too. They should have been much better.

I like Tray Blackmon's hit on Glen Coffee better...

I remember people saying he didn't play that much to start off with, cause he didn't know what to do. Then Tubs finally said "F that, let him play". This knowing the playbook shite is overrated sometimes.

I really wish Tray had been able to keep his head on straight while he was here. I think he would have ended up being in the NFL. One of the biggest what if's in recent Auburn history. He also tore Chris Leak up a few times against Florida.

For the size he lacked he made up for in effort and heart. Nobody was gonna get by him one vs one. But the game was different when he played. The spread was forming and the HUNH was only being run at Arkansas at that point.

I'd like to see how Blackmon would've fit in a defense today

This is a couple days late but I just listened to AUC's DC search podcast from Monday. FWIW Ron Sanders said then people close to Boom did not think the Carolina deal would get done.

South Carolina's Scout writer said something like "I wouldn't put any money on Will Muschamp coming to South Carolina" this morning. Something to that degree, which sounds good for Auburn.

The craziest thing is that Tray Blackmon, Reuben Foster and Bo Scarborough are all somehow related (read this somewhere).

If true, talk about some blood lines...

Can't wait for some of Blackmon's 15 kids he had while he was here to become football players.
