You can't seriously argue Marshall and Johnson were equal in terms of experience entering last year.... NM had a year of juco putting up tons of yards/points and spent a season in the SEC as a DB... his learning curve, while steep, wasn't near what JJ had as a true frosh.

You can, but it's foolish... right now nick is the better QB... doesn't mean JJ can't be better when it's all said and done.

Was Marshall not? When it comes to QB experience Marshall had none more at this level than JJ.

Surely you aren't serious. Nick spent a year in the SEC as a DB......learning college D's. He spent the next year as a QB at the JUCO level. JJ spent the year playing ball with 16 year olds. I am not saying JJ is a better QB than Nick at the moment. JJ has the tools to be a better all around QB than Nick, IMO. I don't understand why that is so hard for you to figure out. But as far as your argument.....yes, most Jr. starters are better than true freshmen.

consider this.

When Gus took over the offense in 2009, he had a quarterback that rushed for a -100 yards, had a bad shoulder, and he broke two season records for the position. It was a different offense than what we're seeing right now. My point is this. I think you guys keep trying to compare apples to oranges.... I think.

I personally, was anxious to see JJ run things for a quarter or two against a SEC opponent. As the season progressed a Auburn beat writer gave an explanation as to why things were going the way they were, and for me it was a ..."that make sense!" moment.

The blocking responsibilities of the lineman are considerably different for JJ compared to NM. Simply put, all efforts were being placed on what Marshall and this offense could do, anything else was basically too much.

We all know what these guys have been up to during the off-season. I guess we'll see a lot more more JJ this year than last. I don't think it's a question of one being better than the other, instead it's a question of how many different responsibilities the OL and others can handle. Two different schemes.

Then when you type
quote:

I think JJ is a better all around QB than Nick.
and end your post with it don't be surprised when someone jumps on you for assuming what you left for them to assume. Which is that you meant right now.

M Murphy is saying he thinks Trovon gets the start in place of Mincy.
