Team A played #'s 6, 1, 4, 8, 10, 4, 17 with an opponents' combined record of 120-87.

Team B played #'s 16, 11 with an opponents' combined record of 62-60.
Team A went 1-6 in those games and also lost to a team that will likely finish 2-8

Team B went 2-0 and lost to a team that finished 8-5

Alabama
Georgia
Texas AM
Oregon

Went 3-3

Team B played

Utah

Went 1-1

That is the only ranked team these two played during the regular season other than each other.

Bowl games don’t count I guess.

Facts are, Gustav has lost 6 games since he bested Cristobal in last year’s season opener, Cristobal has lost once. He also won a P5 championship and a NY6 bowl in that stretch.

If we’re counting just head to head, Boom is a better HC than Gus. Guess that means Boom is better than Mario too.

I think Lanier’s main point is that it’s hard to look at Cristobal’s record and prove he’s any good. I think that’s fair. The man is only in his 3rd season.

He can’t really control his opponents but if he continues to win at a 85% clip then I can buy in, even if the competition remains shite.

There’s a lot of fools gold in coaching. These coaches will mostly make you look silly for believing

Now how many of those teams that Gus lost to do you think Oregon could have beaten? LSU, UGA, Florida?

Could they have beaten Alabama or AM? They couldnt beat Auburn head to head when they had the CLEAR advantage so what makes you think they could have done any better? Because they beat Utah?

Come on man. You are trying too hard and its embarrassing.

Chip Kelly
Dude at Nebraska
Dude at Virginia Tech
Dude at Texas
Dude at Florida State
Dude at Penn State is not on top right now either.

Im not saying MC is not a great coach. Im just saying he has not done shite yet to prove he is. He had a heisman QB with a top 5 offensive line and couldnt beat a true freshman with a powder puff offensive line at a neutral field. His most important game of the year and he failed. Maybe he is better sticking with playing cream puffs most of the year and having to beat a top tier program like UCLA or Utah once or twice a year other than playing 6 ranked teams in a season. We dont know that

Not only the above but he has mega money given to his program when he needs something to help get the recruits. Don't think he would have that here along with who he would have to recruit against here.

Purdue’s guy was a big name a few years ago. Minnesota looks rough. Gary Patterson has lost his shine.

I’ll give some credit to Janga. He liked Matt Campbell the last few years and he’s keeping shite together but there’s few guys I can think of that are slam dunks to come in and pick up where they left off

The wanting to hire cristobal reminds me of wanting to hire Peterson after auburn beat his team in 2018. I don’t understand it

I don't either. At least Matt Campbell has been consistent. I believe he is building something up there in Iowa. He may be content staying there as I believe that is where he is from. But that guy is building a solid program.

Yep. Give me Campbell or Fickell, if Bob Stoops doesn’t want to come out of retirement.

Stoops turned down Florida State. He is not coming to Auburn. I think I’d strike him off the wish list.

I’m not even sure who is out there that would be exciting. I once thought Gary Patterson would be a great fit for Auburn but he seems to have lost his spark. I don’t think it can be some old guy set in his ways either. It’s not going to be easy to get someone that will excite a lot of people. For long. Tough bunch to motivate.
