I said he was throwing dimes, and from my seats in the stands, you can see they are dimes. Hits the WR in the hands, in stride, all while getting crushed by a blitzing defender.
But, at this point, people are going to see what they want to see. What pisses me off is the small sample size we got to see the past two weeks, and that is on Gus.
Gus is pissing me off.

He may turn out fine, but comparing his play to that of the Allen kid last season is laughable. That kid made several throws early that made anyone with eye balls say "he's got it".
To be fair, White does not get the luxury of playing against Mincy and our secondary in games that count.

Well played.
I would also agree with any statements about him being premature because of the limited sample size.

IDC. My point is if we had passed, and that turned into JSU, everyone here would have bitched about not feeding Barber.

Are you happy that you've got a solid negabarner crew now?

I wanted to see him throw the ball 20 to 25 times against SJS. That will be the barometer of what we will need out of him to have a chance to win and that is what he should have gotten in live game action.
I also think that we really need to try to speed the offense up as much as we can while keeping a simple game plan for White to get an advantage against defenses trying to readjust more.

The past few days have made me hate almost everyone on this board.

Me reading the Auburn board during the game:

White has thrown some pretty accurate passes. He hasn't been great by any means, but you can see he has potential to be a good QB. He steps up in the pocket nicely, and takes the hit like a champ. I'm actually surprised he got up after some of them.
I'm sure Gus was determined to establish the run, and we did. We have a descent running game, but White needed to get some reps throwing the ball and he did not. Obviously practice is very different from game time situations. JJ proved that if you are good in practice it doesn't always transition to game play.
At this point we really don't know what Sean can do. We WILL NOT be able to run on SEC teams like we did on San Jose State. No one is saying become a pass happy offense, but at least get your QB some good reps. We did nothing to help him or the team by the play calling Saturday. We were shown we had a descent o-line and some solid running backs. That's something we already knew and didn't do much to help us going forward.

SW has done everything the coaches asked of him. I think after JJ, they are over worried about what to call.
I expected at least 20 passes last week, but 2 in the second half sucks. We scored 21 in the first half people. The second half Gus goes Tubershell and throws 2 passes, one completion for 5 yards. We score 7 second half points, until AFTER the on-side kick and SJS knew the game was over.

I have much more confidence in White than JJ. I agree with most here that White has performed on the field better. I also wanted to see White throw more against SJS. In the read run game, it seems White hits through the line faster than JJ which is want you want. White brings MUCH more confidence on the field than JJ does. I want to see White out there vs JJ.
My biggest problem from the SJS game was the D-line. They were getting blown up 5 yards off the LOS every run play. That SHOULD NOT be happening, especially against SJS. I'm sure there is another thread on this topic though. Haven't looked over all the new threads.

This is a great point.
Considering the shitty pass blocking in the SJSU game and the beating that SW took in just the few plays they did try to pass, maybe Gus decided not to pass because he recognized that the OL can't pass block to save their own mother's lives and to save SW a beating?
I don't know how much credence I put into that statement, but I guess its a possibility.

6. I'm embarrassed about being one of the biggest defenders of Rodney Garner over the years. Hey RG, do you practice your DL on a treadmill? Cuz thats what it looked like your DL was doing all game on passing downs, running in place at the line of scrimmage. Not to mention being physically pushed 5 yards downfield on running downs.

It def could be possible. I felt sorry for White..he got drilled on literally every pass he threw. He also stepped up up and still made the throws every time. If our o-line can't pass block any better than that we may be doomed. Kudo's to White for taking a beating and still getting up though.
