This is the area I think he has done at least a decent job with. The baseball stadium renovation for $30M I think was a great addition, I believe last year did a $9M upgrade to Neville for the practice areas and I think lockerrooms. Finally have movement and concrete committment to the North Endzone project and a long term goal there, including the new video board that has been done to accomodate the project and I think there was a $25M upgrade to the stadium done alongside that, my number may be off though. Not to mention upgrades to the football facility itself, though that project was right around him coming on board, so I doubt he really had much impact on it.
Revenue wise, 21 and 22 it was around $175M before him, '23 and '24 it jumped to $195M and 2025 was $205M, whch was the highest ever.

Why do you say the shite that you do.
Yes, it has been a shite sandwich for the entirety of this decade. What exactly do you think I meant by is what it is? Football has been discussed ad nausem around here, didn't see much need to elaborate more on that. Either Golesh will turn it around or he wont. If he can't, Cohen will be gone.

Yes. I am not going to go back and link. You can search. But Cohen asked that Durkin be interviewed, but it wasn't a requirement. Sumrall was 100% on board but when UF came open, he played us.

That may very well be the case.

Football is the main dish. Which drives after one year of no success in basketball a feeling of floundering across the board.
To go along with that baseball and softball both just enjoyed getting swept last weekend

Correct, which is why I said this:
Howerver, if we are going to discuss the athletic department, it is worth discussing it as a whole as well.

Again though, if the big 3 disappoint, ultimately nothing else really matters.

i am of the opinion that Cohen was given the AD gig mainly with the understanding that he was willing to hire Freezus
I'm generally of the same opinion. He was on the job for less than a month when we hired Freeze. That was most likely going to happen regardless of who was brought in as AD. If that's the case, that opens up plenty of other criticisms that I think may be valid of him, but I think also makes it hard to argue something being truly the AD's decision and blame when it is really our money people that should be to blame.

Football has been shite for years. Let's see how Golesh works out before we go nuclear. Basketball is underperforming this year but I don't know how much of that can be blamed on Cohen. He could have launched a search for a new basketball coach after Bruce retired but the timing on that was really bad. Making Steven the interim coach might have been a better decision.
Baseball is not really shite compared to football and basketball. All Cohen could do is hire a new coach and I don't think replacing Butch is the way to go.

That's where I'm at too. I'm perfectly fine letting his tenure be dependent on Golesh at this point. I think it is a worthwhile conversation about him in regards to how everything transpired with Bruce, what he and the money people knew and didn't, and if they didn't know anything, why not. However, I think he handled things the best he good in the situaiton with what we fans are privy to and moved swiftly in light of things. For better or worse, last year was the best we've finished in the Director's cup since 2017 and was our 3rd highest ranked finish ever as well as the highest revenue year ever.
So, there are good things going on in the department when looking at the whole picture, but we really, really need to solidify the big 3 sports consistently, mainly football.

The melt over Cohen may be too early. How is our AD dept in revenue, fundraising and facilities? That’s probably the biggest thing they do.
He is milking the boosters, scholarship holders, etc. for $$$. I understand that is part of it. Prices have gone up 40-50% the last couple of years for every sport.
Hard to find facts, but this Ttown Report showed, Auburn has the second highest (UTK with the highest) cost for a family of 4 to go to an opening round SEC game. Ttown 2023. Our tickets are 50% over the average, etc.
Calculations did not include other costs often incurred by fans including lodging for overnight stays, travel and food other than stadium concessions.
School 4 tickets Parking 4 hot dogs 4 sodas Total
Alabama $649.76 $30 $16.96 $16.96 $713.68
Arkansas $212.81 $20 $25.96 $19.96 $278.73
Auburn $847.60 $40 $23.96 $27.96 $939.52

Probably worth noting, the calculation they used was looking at the secondary ticket market prices, averaged for the first SEC Home games of the season. Those are not the University's prices.
Our schedule that year, that was Georgia, which was a very big game obviously.
