Corch, it was time last year. Why is it just now time? Because he needed time? So we wasted another season, ok, its time now that I say its time.
No, you were wrong and a whole bunch of folks here were wrong. It is way past time and we keep wasting years away.

We were playing freshmen all over the place is why it wasn't time last year. This year those freshmen have had a year of experience and hasn't improved. Plus with the recruiting you don't just throw that away after a year and half. We are 2 1/2 years in. Big timeline difference.
I also can admit I thought Hugh would be a big success here along with most prognosticators. They thought it was a homerun hire. Sometimes it just doesn't work out for whatever reason.

Home run hire my arse. Well over half the fanbase hated the hire and thought it was idiotic. He was coming off 8-5 and 8-4 seasons at freaking Liberty and had insane amounts of baggage. There was nothing remotely home run about the hire, at the time or now.
The only people touting the hire were people parroting the party line from the people that made the hire. Or folks like you who were busy trying to talk down to people and tell them Hugh was gonna be successful and that the doubters just didn't know football like you did. Turns out you didn't know squat on that.

Oh we're definitely losing, Mizzou has a higher rated defense than Georgia and Auburn

It’s definitely time.
We do have better players. We have a solid defense, but the attitude of Hugh, the lack of identity on offense—-actually we do have an identity- softness. Undisciplined. As I heard it said in one podcast—the AU offense is as F’d up as a Tupperware draw.
We are not likely to hold onto top players (Cam for instance) anyway. Cut bait. A 4 star recruit that is on my son’s team was at the game-and today at practice he said “no way” he would come to AU- the offense schemes are trash.
Personally- I have attended 8 home games dating back to 2022. I am 1-7. Since 1985 I don’t think AU has lost that many home games that I have attended. At first the atmosphere of AU, the pregame et cetera were a nice consolation. We lost the game but won the tailgate mentality. Not anymore. We have been stuck in third gear for 5 years now.
The sentiment on the shuttle back to parking last night was the same. Everyone on that bus was just done. Over it. The cost of attendance. The hassle without the hope. People were not mad- just———sad. Sad at what the on the field performance from the offense has become. Sad that we can’t get out of our own way. Not seeing any light at the end of the tunnel.
I played for Hugh. Hugh is not going to be the one to get the offense fixed. He is too stubborn.
AU is a top job- but probably considered one of the harder ones out there. We will probably end up with an up and comer. That’s fine- modern CFB is a young man’s game. So go get the best one available.
