Anyways.....is Steele's style markedly different from Muschamp's?
I don't think so. One of the things Steele said coming in was that there shouldn't be too much of a change up, so terminology would be the biggest thing in the way of keeping some sort of continuity from last year

I have no idea about scheme differences on defense, but d line is taking on blocks preventing blockers from getting ?o the second level, lbs are filling gaps and not missing tackles, and secondary is in position to make plays. It is all really elementary stuff that we have been struggling with for years. I hope they continue to play well this week.

While I like you as a poster, that hasn't stopped me from downvoting and RA'ing every post.

That's probably for the best Was thinking the other day that it's gotta be tough if you're a junior and on your third DC, so any sort of continuity would be a plus. Good on Steele.

Those fundamentals are so cliché, but so crucial. Having guys in position to make plays has to be refreshing. That's the biggest thing I've been pleased with so far with A&M's defense.

Of course, then the issue becomes whether you actually MAKE the play you're in position for Idk how it's been for y'all, but it seems like some of our guys fly to the ball looking to deliver the big hit instead of looking to wrap up/stop forward progress Bad habit.

One team that does not have that problem is App. St. Those fools are excellent at not giving up unnecessary YAC.

Are we doing another Auburn-aTm sig bet?

tspur seems to be ok based on his activity on the OT board. Gradual-stroke is their insufferable D-bag.

Get off our lawn.

Now that we got that out of the way, how is ya'lls run game looking this season?

they are all insufferable dickbags and now this board has the aids. nice job to whichever a-hole is tasked with keeping us clean. total fail. get ready for the old "rubber broke" excuse.

The hype has been that our new OC us supposed to emphasize the run more, but honestly I haven't been super impressed yet. Maybe some of it is attempting to keep some continuity, and the fact that his first big game was against the school he just left, but we still line up in the gun a lot and have a penchant for throwing inside the 10 and I'm short yardage situations that belie that supposed emphasis. Lot of zone read is what we're running.

The OU transfer Keith Ford (#7) is solid and runs bigger than he is, though. The freshman Tray Williams is a burner but needs a little more discipline in running north/south.

Despite the final offensive sequence in OT vs the Bruins where we did force the ball into the end zone with the run, I think our OL is still a little too green to impose their will all game long.

ETA: What about y'all's run game? Same look as last year? That scheme gave us FITS.

You and many others in this thread are the ones being dicks for no reason. You don't have to respond to nor read his posts on the Internet if they bother you for some reason, but he has been polite and respectful. Quit being a bitch.

So far, we have had guys making good his and wrapping up. I don't know the stats, but years after contact have to be down considerably for AU. I just hope they keep it up.

We haven't pressured the QB enough and have had a couple of break downs with lbs in coverage, but nothing that sends systemic. These have been our biggest issues defensively.

Saturday should be close.
