Is Momma G's the most "Auburn" restaurant?

I think most of y'all know my feeling about that place. Taking my little cousin to Auburn for his first visit. Guess in need to bite the soggy nachos and take him there. Any other recommendations?

It is pretty Auburn.

A) Founded and loved by Auburn fans
B) Overrated

Can't get much more overrated

Momma G's should only be enjoyed very, very late at night when you are drunk and you need all of your food steamed and melted for easier consumption.

At that point in the process, Momma G's is a Michelin starred restaurant and you should be honored to be given a table

Psh, the Momma G's in Homewood does it right. Wednesday is 1$ nachos, thursday is free nachos with a student ID, Tuesday they put out a deal on FB/Twitter and they are usually pretty sweet. Those nachos for $1 is fantastic. Could eat those for days.

100% Agree. I've been saying for years.

But I want him to have a "Auburn" experience. You can get Chick-fil-a anywhere. And it needs to be close to campus. Maybe I'll find somewhere downtown.

He's not taking his cousin to Homewood so he can stare at Vulcan's arse and eat popsicles.

They're going to Auburn to watch football like men. Shut the frick up

I don't mind momma gs, as far as soggy sandwiches go they aren't bad.

I just can dip my pub sub in water myself and be on par

Even though I like Momma G's I would never go on gameday.

They pre assemble their gameday subs several days in advance(meat, cheese, bread) and the sandwiches just sit in a tub on the floor on gameday. That was several years ago so it's possible they don't do that anymore but that kinda weirds me out.

I've never been to Momma G's in Auburn, only Dothan and Montgomery. Dothan was really clean and really good food.

It's just the one on Donahue you have that stipulation on. They just do so much business on gamedays.

They still do that I believe . It is why they have a predetermined game day menu

I've been to a couple in Bham and they just aren't the same as the original. Even the two franchises in Auburn just aren't the same as the original for whatever reason.

Oh, and to answer OP, Chicken Salad Chick, duh

There used to be a couple of the Zaxbys styled chicken finger places. I was sorry to see them go along with the Flush.

He is from Walker County. I doubt they eat chicken salad up there. But good answer.

I mean for real, this kid will not eat any kind of fruit. It is the strangest thing.

They don't use as much sauce. For some reason every other branch seems to covet that stuff like it is gold. The original pours it on like they're supposed to. I pretty much always have to tell the ones here in Bham to put an extra squirt of sauce on it and pump the steamer three extra times. Kids these days just don't know.
