There are a few questions on Davis. If we take off the O&B glasses, he is lacking size and arm strength. Hopefully I am wrong.
If we’re an NFL team you’re totally right. 5’11 isn’t tall enough for that league.
Arm strength, again, not sure it’s bad either. Looking at the first 15 plays of his junior year film, 12 are TD passes between 30-50 yards in the air. He doesn’t have the Nick Marshall cannon but it looks as good as Bo’s
But the key points of Davis aren’t height or passing (which he’s better than 75% on the season). He’s actually a good QB. His ball placement is good. Decisions are good. He’s actually executing designed plays and making correct decisions. He’s an playmaker as a runner — something we haven’t had in a while. He has speed and elusiveness that works in college
I say this all the time but go watch Bo in high school. It’s play after play where he’s improvising and taking advantage of poor quality opponents. It looks like the really aggravating stuff we see him do at Auburn. And Bo was not accurate in high school. He probably couldn’t be. He was that Pinson valley offense. Davis plays on a really good North Shore team (#2 in the country) and somehow makes it unbeatable. I think his last game was 6-8 for 220 and 3 TDs. It’s just video game stuff.

Davis stats on the season for 9 games:
108-of-145 passing (74.4%), 2,133 yards, 24 touchdowns, 1 interception.
-51 carries, 394 yards, 9 touchdowns.
He’s throwing about 15 times a game (completing 12), for about 20 yards per completion, and 2.7 TDs. This is in Texas’s 6A division in Houston, in one of the best regions in the state.
QBs know Davis and probably aren’t going to line up to compete with him. If I’m wrong we’ll probably land a top QB in 2022 because Bo will be gone and we’re pretty bare behind him

I agree he is a great prospect. My point is he is not a 5* elite QB. Again, I will gladly eat a big plate of smoked crow.

Reading some of Es post, I forgot about Gooch and UT.

So much of the rating system is about the NFL now. Which is largely why he will never be a 5*. Unless he grows 3 inches he just isn’t a likely NFL guy. Everyone has a different opinion on what elite means, so not sure where to go with that statement.
Ultimately, it’s going to take years to see who’s right or wrong here. Just not sure we should care about size as much as Rivals or 247, aside from the guy being 170lbs or something

Of Gooch, Johnson, and Langlo, I was happiest to lose Gooch.
And I’m not a great analyst of OL but I was concerned that homeboy gained about 100lbs in a year. And while I don’t subscribe to the idea that the best OTs need to eat meals every two hours to maintain weight, we’ve also been burned a lot by these OL with weight issues. It’s really tough to determine how much dominance on tape is attributed to technique versus pure size. We usually learn that from camps. Film in HS, for OL, doesn’t distinguish well between good weight and bad weight. It’s just a physics equation for most kids

KN & 247 have identified 3*/4* DE George Wilson (USCe commit) as a flip candidate if Muschamp is canned. Staff is talking to him often. They haven’t offered yet but could if they feel like he would flip
He’s definitely a Buck.
Timeline update.
George Wilson decommits from USCe

Orange and blue glasses alert:
Dee Davis was a badass tonight. 3 rushing TDs and a few passing TDs, most by half, in a blowout game to clinch the 6A championship. Will post full stats when available

Yancy Porter CBs George Wilson to Auburn.
The JBoy bunch has done so as well.

And Trevin Wallace decommits from BC.
Give me Wallace, Young, and Wilson and I’ll be happy

There’s 2/3. Need Byron and we’re good on defense

There’s some buzz across the paysites that Auburn is going to land a big defensive recruit, potentially a flip.
Might not know who until early signing day, 12/16. Might be more than one guy
