I agree with you on our insiders. They’re a strange bunch. One goes to Gadsden state community college?

Anyways, Mims wasn’t trying to keep this visit secret. He’s been texting KN and our 247 site has talked to him so much the last few days that they’ve pumped out several articles now about his recruitment and visit

It’s one of the reasons why I’m not taking Mims’ interested in Auburn seriously. He really wants his commitment to be suspenseful on his birthday and I think some of what he’s doing is to draw attention to that moment.

One of the downfalls of social media in recruiting. Recruits have become attention whores.

Auburn offered ‘22 3* WR Omari Kelly this week. He’s teammates with current commit, Amari Goodwin.

His highlights so far this season are really good. Pretty tall with some speed. Looks heavier than the 180 he’s listed at. He’s sent some DBs backwards. Hurdled another, and runs some impressive routes for a guy that plays on a Gus protégé team

In Mims’ defense, at least he’s doing this mid-season on his birthday and not on signing day when multiple schools are holding spots for him

Social media and also the massive industry around recruiting now really has changed things.

In the 247 article you mentioned he also talked about how he goes to Athens just to chill with Brock Vandagriff sometimes, that its not even really for football. The fact that they just go there to hang out should tell everyone where he's going to school imo.

I think he's a DB. I've watched a couple of their games this year and he flashes on the defensive side. Justice Finkley is another guy from HT I wouldn't mind having.

Trey Washington is the DB you are thinking about at HT. He's committed to Ole Miss.

I think JT33 is saying he likes Kelly as a DB vs WR. Looks like Kelly plays some defense since there’s clips on his Hudl.

He’d be a pretty large DB, though

Nah I'm thinking Omari Kelly. Jason Caldwell said he's a WR, but also a really good DB and wouldn't be surprised to see him on the defensive side. I thought he was a SR a senior when I watched them and was really surprised when I found out he wasn't.

Yep. By this time next year I think we will be seen as a DB recruit and a highly sought after one at that.

I agree as well. Think he’s a better DB then WR but he will blow up next year as a senior and that dominate run game gone. Probably will have to recruit him at both. Probably a boundary corner or free safety. This HT team is loaded with top end talent just has very young middle talent. If only a confident QB and a 7A average OL and that team wouldn’t lose. Congrats to Omari tho he’s a good kid.

No idea what side of the ball he belongs on but he seems like a take

Also seems like he might be holding out for a Bama offer

I'll try to find out who he's a fan of. I know Armoni is and has been an AU fan his entire life.

Malachi Moore a former teammate of Omari is now a starter(I think) at Bama. So he has friends that will be a both schools.

My son isn’t friends with Omari. He doesn’t wear school gear from what he knows. So don’t know where his fandom is.

We weren’t going to recruit Orr any more. I’m happy for the kid hope he’s able to get everything worked out in his personal life. I can’t imagine what he’s going through mentally

I think so. KN doesn’t think Auburn was close to offering

He had too many stars for us to recruit him as an offensive tackle.

I know we stopped recruiting him, but Deion Colzie committed to Notre Dame again today. I'm really disappointed we didn't at least try to get this guy.. We are still chasing after Roc Thomas an he's not even close to being the same kind of athlete as Colzie. Its not the end of the world, but I don't agree with the coaches on this one.

More accurately, he recommitted to ND

I don’t think he really had other options
