It did actually. No bad weather and just some wind but overall no issues.

Fishing was awful. Never seen a lake so tough in the Spring. Oh well, had fun anyway.

Doing good. We're heading back right to NC right now after visiting my folks in Alabama for a few days.

Was a good trip. Had Easter dinner yesterday with family.

Almost to Tuscaloosa. Only 9 hours to go...

Speaking of, hammered the spots on Martin a few weeks ago. Caught 94 on Saturday, fished half a day Sunday and caught 47. No giants but it was my son's first time getting into them like that.

I drove from Auburn (4 pm) to Laramie WY ( 9:30pm thee we next night to see my granddaughter), with stopping only for fuel, food, and one 40 minute nap. It was a brutal trip but I was determined to get it done as fast as possible. Haha
fuel costs were crazy.
That is a freaking haul. I've done similar many times but not like that.

Jones, I was a catcher and second baseman since I could walk, and I only played second base in Little League because I wore glasses for two years. I loved playing catcher. Decent arm, good stick, but could really call a game and run an infield. If there was something I could go back and do, it would be to play catcher again for a season.

Happy Easter and best wishes to all.

I was catcher from Little League to Dixie League/Babe Ruth (forgot what that last league was called). Pretty much from age 9-18. Also pitched a lot and played 3rd when needed.

I got to hit against a future major league pitcher for the Reds, Johnny Ruffin. Dude had a very, very short major league career though, but he could sling it.

I loved catching back when I was a kid. Grew up in Butler, AL during the 80s and the town took their baseball seriously. It was a fun time. Now Zack Rogers Park is pretty much just walking trails. Kids don't do baseball there much at all anymore. They don't know what they're missing.

Catching also made me a good hitter. Batted .535 one year. Wasn't a power hitter til I was 16 or so. First homerun I hit was a first pitch at bat off my cousin. That was fun.

Made All-Star every year. Those All-Star tourneys were hit or miss. Some years we were required to stay host families which gave us a few good stories to tell.

Now I'm almost 50, my knees remember all those years of catching.

Don't get me started. I love the game of baseball and loved being a catcher. Even before Cimo at AHS we were usually pretty good. I was a gaps hitter and hit 4 jacks over my Jr and Sr years. .363 and .419. I always batted 2nd or 5th. Central-PC was our big rival. They always had good players. They won our region my Jr year and we won it when I was a Sr. Lost to Vestavia because our starter had a collapsed lung from drinking the night before as a Sr. Its probably one of the most upsetting things in my life as stupid as that sounds, which means I've had it pretty easy in my life. But I'll tell you, if I could just catch for one more season I'd die a happy man.

Baws,

Wife and I are both from Baldwin County (same HS). Moved to Ninety-Six, SC a year ago and love it.

You are not officially old til you talk about High School sports or the weather.

Put a FatHead AU on the golf cart, looks good, everyone here is transplanted yankee's, MI, OH, PA, etc.

Played OL for Daphne, and the weather is great! I'm 46, bought some "just for men" beard dye! Ship!!!!

Kept our limit Saturday. They got a pass Sunday because we had to drive home and didn't have time to clean them.

I was actually just sidestepping into my airplane seat. Straw that breaks the camels back kind of thing.

Damn, how did you do that?

The first one was me going for a jui jitsu takedown twisting and putting lots of weight on it. Both had audible pop sounds.

Creamy dill chicken, roasted broccoli & potatoes, and a cold New Belgium 1559 dark ale.

Watching The Story of Mankind on the TCM app. One of Michael Medved’s “50 Worst Films of All Time”. It deserves the accolades
