I know he gets about two thrown over his head every big game, but has he ever actually caught one? Does anyone remember this ever happening?
Also AS reminds me a lot of DeSean Jackson. He is going to be a good pro for a long time if he ever gets a qb that can hit him deep.

I feel like he was more of a deep threat his freshman year but last year and this year became more of a screen catcher

I feel like his first career catch was a deep ball TD. It was against Alabama State or someone like that. I remember another last year against OM. Was tackled shortly after but it was a good play all around.

Lately, it feels like the threat of his speed is all he's used for. Definitely gets a few thrown over his head per game along with some screen passes behind the LOS. OP mentioned DeSean Jackson, iirc he was productive at Cal

DBs seem to get away with doing slight tugs on his jersey to slow him down. It worked last time as it slowed him down just enough for him to be overthrown.

It's almost to the point now that I don't believe the "fastest player in college football" bullshite.
He is obviously fast, but there have been very few instances of him showing it with the ball in his hands.
I hate to use Bama as an example... Does anyone question how fast Devonta Smith, Ruggs, or Waddle were? Screen pass, jet sweep, deep ball, kick or punt return, it doesn't matter. They take it to the house.
I know our offense sucks and Bo Nix misses Schwartz a lot, but the "fastest player in college football" should be in the end zone more regardless of circumstances.

It’s their acceleration and the fact that teams done know what route they’re running. Schwartz is almost always either running a go or will get the ball behind the LOS.
