The Bobo hire is really suspect because we know that Steele was hiring Bobo to be his offensive coordinator. I think that the ptb wanted Bobo because he is known for being a great qb coach to try to salvage and rehab Nix.

I think until Auburn actually gives a coach 100% ability to hire who they want and run the football team like Saban does we are going to be playing musical coaching chairs every 3-4 years. The PTB have way to much control over the football team

Looks like Harsin is the target for Washington. I guess we’ll see soon whether Auburn PTB wants him to stay or not.

Right now it's just football scoop type of websites listing their candidates. It's all just speculation as far as I can tell.
I think there is something there, though. Harsin is a Petersen guy and Petersen is still involved in UW athletics. I still don't think Hars is at the top of their list. He can't be after these past few weeks.

Yeah he made those hires. He competed against Bobo when he coached CSU, and Mason built his rep as a DC. Both have long history in the SEC and felt they would be invaluable to compete at recruiting.
I did not like the Bobo hire. All I kept hearing from Uga fans is we will be disappointed. Lights out Bobo in first one to two quarters is a bad arse. I have no idea what happens from there, but it’s ugly and our offense dies in its tracks.
Mason’s D is a fricking mystery. Sometimes it looks dominant and then his defense looks absolutely horrid, and once it starts going bad it goes all in bad. Mason never seems to get the guys to recover and stiffen back up. Just yards and points piling up. No pressure or penetration is a death blow.
Would be a bad thing to get new coordinators but Harsin just may need to rip that band-aid off to heal.

I would put the odds on Harsin leaving at this current time at 20ish percent.
I do think he is at the top of Washington’s list maybe not the number 1 but very close.
If we get manhandled by Bama. Like a 17 point loss I think that percentage jumps above 50 percent if Washington comes calling.
