I had a shite ton of fun last night.

But we have to get the right coaching hire willing to put some sweet, tender loving care to our roster to be optimistic again.

Like I said last night, borrowing from one of our greatest leaders, it’s morning in Auburn. Fresh new slate. People feel good. Everything is in front of us. It’s up to us what we do with the day.

To feel this way, you really really see how bad the coaching and administration situation was.

Going for two, the first time, and, not kicking the field goal, were bad calls, made by inexperience.

However, the fact that we were even in that game speaks to Coach Caddy's ability to motivate the team.

Coach Boise doesn't get the benefit of claiming inexperience, Cadillac does.

I've been telling friends, and family, all year, "I don't even look forward to our games anymore." That was the first time since the 80's, I felt that way about Auburn Football.

I give zero fricks about the few bad calls, I enjoyed watching that game, last night.

I hope the men enjoyed playing in it. I hope Caddy enjoyed Coaching it. frick Coach Boise. frick anybody whining. WarDamnEagle! I'm out.

I've been told I have a kind of dry optimism...

tl;dr Caddy is New, we aren't hopeless, frick Harsin. WarDamnEagle!

I’m super optimistic. I think we get the right guy. He will have a Dye-like impact on the program.

The similarities to the early 80s are scary. We get rid of an all-time bad coach. uga is on a run like 80-82. Bama has a legend that is now old and slowly starting to degrade.

I honestly thought coming into this season that the team was gonna play like that all year. Backs against the wall, us vs them, never to yield, etc.

I bought into the HARDsin hype. It was all bullshite, obviously. But the will of the team to play like that was always there. I think that showed last night.

I think its instructive to see whats happening in Red Stick. I was very skeptical of the Kelly hire, and figured that was a multi-year rebuild. What he’s accomplished in a few short months is pretty damned impressive. Who would’ve thought after they got blown out by UTee that they would be sitting in the driver’s seat headed towards the SECCG?

And he started with a roster almost as devoid of talented depth as ours will be in ‘23. Just goes to show you how quickly you can turn a program around - IF you get the right man for the job.

Emotion still plays a huge part in this sport. Here’s hoping we can turn that into some momentum for the future.

All those 5 stars are about to transfer from aTm too so It'd be nice to show them a new home + a boatload of Florida HS recruits

I'm not gonna overanalyze the actual coaching from last night, because I'm sure that certain decisions were being made to "reboot" the players' heads. Judging by their intensity in the 2nd half, they seemed like they were fully bought in...

That is the problem with emotion. And that is what went on in the off season. Players always get emotional, post things on social media like, "ITs us against the world", "Nobody believes in us", "We are gonna shock yall". And fans just follow suit. It happens in all sports but more with college athletics because kids are emotional.

Just like yesterday, emotion only carries you so far. Eventually in this league, you have to be able to execute. Emotion works better on defense.

Its hard not to get caught up in it because we as fans want to believe.

I’ll just call him terrible because they never would’ve came back at all under Harsin. Caddy didn’t coach a perfect game but who really expected him to? He’s just trying to hold it together until we hire someone.

Well Harsin didn’t and wouldn’t recruit, so there’s that.

Sorry, we hung in the game, caddy played to our strengths. The HC was just fired 4 days ago.

Your takes fricking suck by the way. Know that.

I lost braincells reading this. Harsin never gave a shite, his playcalling was predictable and he'd never adjust.

We were down 6-24 at halftime. If we hadn't adjusted (which we haven't done all fricking season, btw) we would have given up 40 or more.

Caddy is a first-time head coach and he's an interim coach meaning that he didn't have enough time/experience to call said plays.

Now tell me, if Harsin was put in a situation where he was down by 2+ scores at halftime, how do you think the score would be at the end of the game?

He made those "calls" to win, he was aggressive. That's what I wanted to see. Stop with this BS narrative of "He sHoUlDa CaLlEd mOre SaFeR pLayS!!!!111111". We played to win and he coached like he wanted to win.

Cadillac has said multiple times that the players repeatedly told him throughout the course of this week, "We've got you, Coach."

By going for it a time or two, he showed those players that he believed in them, too.

It wasn't about whether it was the right call at that time, in that series. It was the right call for the bigger picture. And, like Freep has more or less already pointed out, I firmly believe it played an integral part in our comeback... in the tone of the game, in general.

Cadillac basically said, go get punched in the mouth. We've got nothing to lose, and your coach has your back.

Anyone criticizing those in-game decisions has missed the entire arse point.
