How disappointing. I understand (and expected) him to transfer, but the timing is a mistake and a slap in the faces of his teammates. He does know he’s stuck in Auburn until the end of the academic semester, right? Unless he plans on dropping out of school

Can you be in the portal and play at the same time? Theoretically, being in the portal would ensure he could find a spot before classes get filled. If he could play while also getting contacted, that would be great.

Sometimes a man is filled with so much conviction that he has no choice. Think of the frustrations we have towards Malzahn and multiply that for Joey. The silver lining is that if Bo can't lose the job (he obviously can't play his way out of it), then it won't change personnel and will serve as a badly needed kick to the nuts for gus.

So what are his options now? Can he transfer to a 1AA team or lower and play now? Next year? Could he play D1 after 8 games next year? Or does he have to sit out a full year?

I remember when Roc Thomas transferred out. Didn't the starter go down the following week? You never know when you might get your shot. He should've finished the season.

13? The guy simply made the loudest statement he could make with what he had to work with. Why do you think he did it now? Instead of the more quiet and accepted method of not rocking the boat at all.
He could of said all manner of things and instead decided to let the world fill in the blanks. He didn't go ballistic or vocal, he just very politely thanked everyone and closed the door knowing what he worked for at Auburn would be lost, forever gone. To move on now was to publicly bitch slap Gus with a gentleman's glove.
And he probably still doesn't care that this clashes with your wall of old (golden-day) participation awards.
