I agree that the defensive numbers for the most part are skewed because we have been blowing teams out with so much time left in the second half that we begin to let our foot off the gas and don’t play as intense, as well as putting backups in for longer periods. As for the Duke game, they had a guy who had only played like 10 minutes the whole season and never shot a 3 and then goes off like he’s Steph Curry. Also, the foul discrepancy was ridiculous, as usual playing there. They had so many things go their way and they still barely beat us. We beat them by double digits on a neutral court. That game was a fluky game. Having a guy you never prepared for go off isn’t going to happen in conference play. Yea, there might be a role player who gets hot, but there won’t be a guy who hasn’t played almost all year all of a sudden look like an All NBA player.

BP has talked about how they were not able to keep Duke from running their offense, and I would like to know more about that.

Because anyone who breathed on Flagg was getting called for a foul.

That and they are very talented individuals. They matched up well against our defense. If you win the iso battles then you just have superior talent. Duke has that.

Still think we win by 10+ on a neutral court

For sure, I didn't mean to imply that they aren't a very good team.

I also think we just got lost defensively a ton in the first half. I think even if we played them again at Cameron it would go differently.

Yea, they are talented, no doubt, but again, the biggest reason they won was a guy who hardly played and hadn’t made a 3 all year makes 8 3s, along with them having almost 30 free throw attempts to our 13-14 attempts. Any one who was within 10 ft of Flagg was called a foul. I mean, their first foul didn’t come until I believe 7 minutes in the first half and they were already shooting free throws. That’s why I hate playing them. On a neutral court, we beat them down. Look at it this way to let you know how good we are: they played at home, got all the calls, needed a guy who never made a 3 the whole year to look like Steph Curry and we still had a chance to win. That wouldn’t happen a second time against us. Kind of hard to prepare for a team and win when all of that happens and we still had a chance to win.

The NCAA Tournament is a great way to ensure a really damn good team wins the championship. You don't win 6 games in a row against good to elite competition at a neutral court without being great.

But it's not a good way to find the best team. The best way to do that would probably be a boring tournament of 4 or 8 teams.

Yea, this is a much shorter winded way of saying what I was trying to say

A 4-8 team tournament that was similar to NBA strcture, maybe best of 3 for the first round best of 5 or something after that.

All that being said, I absolutely love March Madness and probably wouldn't change it. It is one of the most fun things in all of sports.

That and we communicated very poorly on switches, reverted back to last year's defensive play which was bad communication and lots of reaching.

We hadn't done that much this year and had played much more sound defensively, against Duke though, they got us flustered (some of which was definitely the soft calls early).
