This loss should haunt Freeze for the rest of his career. I believe he thought he could turn the NMST game plan over to Montgomery while he went all in on recruiting after the A&M firing. I bet he thought, "how bad could Monty screw this up? It's NMST against an SEC team."

I'm not saying it's not a terrible loss, but it's not as terrible a loss as a 6-6 ULM, I guess that's a bit hard to comprehend. I'll still mess with UA about ULM.

My exact thought as well. In the previous games leading up Hugh would talk about how involved he was in the gameplan. He didn’t bring that up once leading up to the NMSU game.
