I was going post four different things on this Holland news and stopped each time. I don't know what to think anymore.

On Justin Garrett ...

It's a mild sprain. He's expected to miss around 3 days. Probably fully ready for the next scrimmage.

I'm obviously not a Holland fan but like I've said about other positions, if he's the best then play him.

It wouldn't hurt my feelings if he missed the next scrimmage. We already know that he's a definite starter, why risk further damage to ankle ligaments? They get easier to tear/stretch with each ankle injury. Get that man some physical therapy and let him lay low until fully healthy. It'll also get the other guys, like Robenson Therezie and MacKenro Alexander, some playing time and experience.

** Jake Holland has had two very good scrimmages. Kris Frost still has a very good chance, but Holland's been the most consistent linebacker.

Yeah Bryan Matthews said today that he's leaning towards Johnson not redshirting

HOLLAND: I was a huge Holland fan before the season last year, thought he would have a break out year. He was hurt by injuries, the terrible line play, the downward spiral of the season and himself. Some folks come back from bad years (Fairley) and do wonders the next. I hope all our players play to their potential.

If Frost put half as much time into learning the defense as he does flying those damn crop dusters we wouldn't be having this discussion

Nick Fairley didn't have a bad 2009 season. Go back and watch tape of him against Alabama and Northwestern.

Comparing Fairley's 2009 season and a highlight reel of Holland is laughable

You could be right. Sometimes kids just lose interest in playing football. He is far from dumb.

Well, it's the only two I remember very distinctly...

Either way, Nick Fairley showed flashes of brilliance, and Jake Holland hasn't shown jack shite.

Yeah he flies a lot. Wants to be a commercial pilot or navy pilot. Said thats actually a huge reason he chose AU..because he had the flying program
