We need to name the starter today or tomorrow. That way whoever is starting is somewhere in between Chris Todd and Cam Newton. I would take that all day long.

Opinions on which one of the two will be better this year. The defense or offense?

i concur. People play it off too much, in my opinion. Every starter on the offense was recruited to play in the Malzahn system and they aren't that far removed. This year will all depend on whether the quarterback can get a guy or two out of the box and open the running game up.

Scholarship weekend is Saturday, will be interesting to see them in person in front of fans, I sorta hope the announcement is in Sunday.

AUC team insider notes....

NM and JJ are the clear front runners for the starting job right now. They battle may go into the week but the decision may come at any time.

Justin Garrett hurt his foot in the scrimmage and Johnathan Ford hurt his knee. Neither are supposed to be serious injuries but they will miss some practice time

That is really sad considering we had a "respected quarterback guru" last year as an OC. You would think that the two guys would be a little farther along than they are.

Dee Ford is the one who actually had the minor knee injury, not Rudy
