AE just made him out to be something he wasn't, i.e. the god of all AU sports info.

He got good info and definitely was an insider, people on the board just didn't understand that the information from the staff isn't always right. Just because a coach believes they are in the lead for a recruit or because some tigerrete had heard from a recruit that he was going to commit or so on, doesn't mean it is the truth.

Same goes from what people hear from players how practice went. Just because someone looked great/bad to the players doesn't mean the coaches saw it that way. I learned the hard way last year that who the players think ar ethe best seldom seem to end up the starting lineup due to biases and differences in opinions

Wait.. ?

Slade will project as a guard prospect so it is highly unlikely he is a high pick anyways. Few guard prospect project higher than round 3 unless they are can't miss talent. "High" for Slade would be anything higher than 5-6 rounds

Lawson, I hope some dumbass GM drafts Slade high just to see you rape an anthill

I know that's right.

Did Chizik and friends have to much bias that ked them away from the better fits? If so, soes CGM seem to be more even handed? From what I have seen, heard and read both answers seem to be yes, but I am way outside.

Like it or not folks KF is still in the mix for now.

Disagree. IMO, Marshall is going to have to breakdown completely to lose this race

This is how I interpret things I have heard about Gene and his chin so don't take it as fact just a point of view. I'll start by relaying a story I heard regarding Justin Garrett and why he never saw the field

Justin Garrett was having a hard time breaking into the LB corps because he was a bit of a tweener (sub 220 LBs) and there were guys pretty solid at OLB (Evans & Bates). Garrett approached Thigpen to ask him about potentially trying out safety seeing as he played it in high school and quite frankly, our safeties sucked. Thipen basically told him to frick off and he was free to transfer if he wanted to. After that, Thigpen took him off the travel squad last year and had him on scout team D with the walkons, didn't even give him reps at LB. Which, clearly he should have considering how much we sucked arse

The ending of that story is a reflection of the coaching staff, there were no second chances for players unless you were a can't miss superstar (and not necessarily over discipline issues). If you were a young player who messed up or they didn't like, you weren't going to see the field ever. They made early judgments on players that oftentimes seemed to not be accurate and it influenced their opinions for the rest of their tenure at Auburn. An immature kid who has troubles adjusting to quality of D1 football and that they will have to work for a change will always look that way to that staff. They never gave them the chance to grow and realize they needed to work hard

With Kiehl Frazier, unless something has changed, the kid could never hit the broad side of a barn with a football. He just isn't that accurate. That may not be the end of the world given his other athletic gifts but it was well known. So when fall camp came around, everyone on the team was aware that we were fricked due to Kiehl looking like a deer in the headlights out there. He wasn't good. Also, he tried to quit the team (another story)

I haven't heard too much of Gus. I have worked all summer and most of the guys I know were so busy from spring camp to summer practices to now fall camp that I haven't seen them around/gotten the chance to catch up with them any more than superficial things. I have heard that they really like Ryan Russel's S&C program. It is a lot more dynamic and interval training which is more fun and creates a more energetic atmosphere. Yoxall was good but the injection of new blood alone has created some energy. PLayers have remakred that things are tougher (that part is from a DL) and not as relaxed as it was last year. Haven't heard much else about coaching changes it is mostly about who is doing well and stuff. Most people just tlak about their position coach and who is doing well

Just because NM is the clear frontrunner doesn't mean KF isn't in the mix.

Coaches didn't give players second chances to change their impression of players.

Coaches sucked. Especially Thigpen

I don't know much about Gus other than positive things so far. All superficial things you could hear from JGT /PAM

If you have paid attention to his negabarner posts on KF the past 2 years you would realize that is a resounding HELL NO!

I think everybody knows what Frazier can do from the last couple years. We give the kid a chance in practice/scrimmages but already know what we have. The real evaluation going on right now is NM and JJ and comparing them to what we already know about KF and JW.

He's not going to win. Therefore, in my mind, he isn't in the mix.
