Monty Adams had a sack during yesterday's scrimmage, FYI.

To me, I don't think he is looking at the ball in that photo particular photo. Looks more like he's looking down field. or at least checking out the girl in row 2.
Which is still a no no. He should not be looking to either side to see his target on release. He should be looking straight ahead at release point.

Well, he might be actually trying to throw in that direction, even though it doesn't look like it. Wouldn't surprise me, it is KF haha. I just don't see how someone could even complete one pass by doing looking at the ball, or not looking where they throw it. So if he's been doing that for awhile, then I am surprised he didn't do worse last year.

looking at the ball on release is a fundamental big no no

Let's face it. Looking the ball out of one's hand is so far beyond the pale it's given no mention in the Book of Fundamentals.

From al.com:
** Malzahn wasn't happy with the way his team responded to Thursday's morning practice.

** Focus of the morning's practice was correction from the scrimmage.

** Auburn also worked on red zone opportunities.

** Malzahn says Auburn's quarterbacks handled the pressured well and showed toughness. "They all took pretty good licks," Malzahn said. At the same time, there were some same mistakes.

** Malzahn's plan is to focus on specific plays by the quarterbacks where they made mistakes, then try to put them in the same situations and see how they respond the second time.

** Malzahn says Auburn's defense made plays when they had to. "Individually, it was probably hit or miss," Malzahn said.

** Malzahn's goal is to hopefully narrow the quarterback race down after Saturday's scrimmage.

** A big key on the lines is figuring out what they've got in some of the younger guys.

** J.B. Grimes will be back this afternoon.

** Auburn's second practice will be half special teams, half installation.

** Freshman Tony Stevens has impressed the players, but Malzahn was quick to point out that the schedule is tough for the young guys, who are going with 24/7 football for the first time.

** Auburn had a couple of guys "a little banged up," but no major injuries, Malzahn said.

** Malzahn was pleased with the ball security from the running backs, but feels like the Tigers have some options. "We're at our best when we've got guys who are a little bit different.

** Josh Holsey continues to impress the coaching staff with his intelligence out of the safety position.

I know it gets overshadowed by the Cam run, but his 70 yd TD vs LSU in 2010 is one play that i'll remember for the rest of my life.

Considering his life story on top of what he was able to do at and for Auburn, I love that kid.

Hmm, guess not.

This is actually kind of encouraging to me, considering how much of a perfectionist that Gus can be.

He may not be a natural either, but he seems to know his assignments and can make the calls...

Unlike the past, I'd just like him to finish getting the call made before the offense snaps the ball.

How Cass and Frost haven't easily beat him out blows my mind.

I sympathize.

And yet 3 separate defensive coordinators have seemingly come to the conclusion that Holland has been better than the competition he's had for those LB spots.

Now either all 3 are crazy or maybe our hopes and beliefs about the quality of the players competing with Holland have been overblown.

As Branngan noted... sad panda.

We desperately need a threat on the outside who can do something besides go deep.

This is somewhat true but I believe Cass was not here for Roof and Frost got hurt is first year on campus so really only BVG and Johnson have evaluated them.

But we keep hearing the same things about them, inconsistency. Cass isn't a huge surprise to me but I thought Frost would have asserted himself by now. It is still somewhat early tho
