Anyways, don't think there's much we can take away from what's been said. Hopefully the o line has actually improved.

As far as the offense, as it's already been said not being able to run the zone read is handcuffing them.

I just listened to the interview of Prince Tega, and in his words he said the “the heat (temperature) got to the offensive line.” Said it several times. Maybe they’re out of shape.

Some bad news is that Seth Williams was pulled out of the scrimmage after a few plays. No official word but someone watching said potentially a hamstring issue.

So our offense was down Schwartz and Williams, plus it was the base offense

Injuries are a huge concern. Hamstrings have a tendency to hang around for a long time unfortunately. Hopefully most of them are minor

As for taking too much from the scrimmage, remember that these scrimmages are very similar to a spring game. QB's not being live changes the entire dynamic. Defense can pin its ears back and make plays

I worry about the injuries, not the results of the scrimmage

This. The narrative in last year's camp was that our oline was struggling because of how great our defensive line was. Then, our vaunted dline got torched during the season by Miss State, UGA, and one or two others. Our oline, A "good" oline should not be a complete shiteshow against any dline no matter how talented or experienced they are.

We were in base defense too no blitzing i'm sure or at least not very complicated looks. We're just weak af on the oline in the middle.

This. It is getting ridiculous.

Bo Nix had a better day at quarterback than Joey Gatewood we were told,

Sal had a tough day with several drops

Here’s more, for those that like the stuff after the comma

Nix had a better day at quarterback than Joey Gatewood we were told, but with the officials blowing the whistle any time a defender got near a quarterback it stopped plays that were probably far from over

Nix also had two INT's. I don't know how much i'm going to put stock into which one had a better or worse day. Nix had at least a couple TD passes, so I guess better day in that regard

Regardless, this scrimmage did nothing to indicate that battle one way or the other.

Why are we debating the performance of players in a game no one watched based upon interview from a coach who often doesn't tell the truth?

He moved the offense against the 1st team D. Picks are bad, but one doesn’t seem to be his fault. But without watching the play, that could have been an uncatchable pass or forced to a WR that was covered up

Because it’s fall camp and this is the fall camp discussion thread. We’ve already covered how sketchy the info is.

You’re more than welcome to ignore the comments here.

Because the preseason is over

Yep plus one fumble by a RB that went out of bounds.
Ferg corrected that tweet & said it was a WR. Likely the same fumble mentioned above your post

Ah gotcha.

I wonder if one of the fumbles and/or the tipped INT were from Sal? Apparently he was having some drop issues today.

That guy could be a major match up weapon, if he could get the catching the ball part down. Big, tall, and can run well. I guess that's why they keep giving him chances, but geez.
