And yet, even after all these years, Florida is still a bigger rival than LSU.

That said, Auburn will be playing UF and LSU equally going forward. Which is really awesome, actually. So it really is a moot point after this season.

Why? Because we rarely win on the road?
BO NIX AINT WALKING THRU THAT DOOR

What Auburn did to Florida in the 50's means nothing to me.

It’s so awesome that we get to play our rivals less! Can’t wait! So excited!

You do realize Auburn (and everyone else) will play each other MORE, right? Instead of waiting years to play Florida and Tennessee and etc. we will play everyone twice every 4 years. Now, hopefully we keep Georgia as a permanent, but the new schedule rotation means Auburn will play everyone more often and (even more importantly) it means everyone else will play everyone more often, too.

Good points and the part I am glad about, and some things needed to be sacrificed for that to happen. Change to tradition is just hard.

While I would say LSU is a bigger rival than Florida, you apparently don’t know and don’t care about history past when you were born. So don’t even know why you’re in the argument.

It aint that.

I want to know why Florida is still the bigger rival.

I dont know why you think I dont care
about past history.

edit: Our series with Florida has been mostly collecting dust

1. You pretty much said it in this thread
2. You somehow didn’t know about Auburn hosing down UGA fans when they rushed our field which is a pretty fricking well known moment. When I said something about it your response was “It was before I was born. Don’t care.”

Which is fine if that’s your stance but hard to talk about historic rivalries if you don’t know any of the history past your birthdate.

I said I dont care because you said you were not born during that game but you still knew about it. I still dont care that you knew about the game. You are making shite up right now.

I did learn we hosed the field but I didnt know we hosed actual people.

History collecting dust doesnt trump current rivalry.

Auburn/Florida 1993

Only game louder was ‘89 bama.

Auburn/Florida 94

Coming into the game we had been undefeated the year before and undefeated in the current season yet we were 17 point dogs on the road.

And don’t forget about the Pratt shirts in ‘83. Their fans deny it (and of course, it was the actions of only a few, but so was Updyke), and I didn’t see it with my own eyes (although I was at that game), but I know people who did see it with their own eyes.

We will still play them twice every 4 years. And in exchange for playing Florida, Tennessee, and literally every other school in the SEC (at least) twice every 4 years, it’s a damn good trade.

And if you don’t agree, well then now you know how some of us feel about losing Florida as a permanent.

So we have fans adult fans that don’t know about hosing down the dawgs, the Dillard 5, Pass LSU Pass, or even why we have a wreck tech pajama party the night before the GT game or that we played our home games against UT in Bham as well as we played the Iron bowl there as well

Damn I’m getting old

Auburn-Florida used to be a great rivalry. By the time it was ended in 2001 or 02 LSU had come in to create another rivalry (that had not been there before). Auburn-Georgia will never be the same to me outside of mid-November.

Yeah well I felt old learning that Tim Wakefield died at 57.

Stuart Scott and Tim Wakefield were a part of my childhood experience.

I knew a couple of those things though. Tech is another rivalry that collects dust that got scraped away despite close proximity.

Tech bitched out and ran to the ACC. Don’t come back!

However I can understand why they did. Bama and the SEC office.
