Anybody can make shite up lil bro.

That 2022-2023 team had a nucleus of players including Broome and leadership.

That's great. Here I am just hoping to beat Georgia and Arkansas.

I'm not talking about the makeup, just in W-L results. That team didn't have the close to the amount bucket getters this team has, and wasn't as athletic. It was much much better defensively though.

That team lacked a straw to stir the drink.

We are all straw this year. We have no leadership, no poise, no defense. We are probably going to be building the future on two players SWA and Jovic. From there it's up to recruits to decide if they believe in Pearl

Agreed on all points except I hope to retain Freeman & Overton for future rosters as well. Sophomore & Junior.

We also should never have another roster without a rim protector again. I'm not sure if they thought they could turn Murphy into one or develop Opurum but the Pearl defenses absolutely have to have it.

Freeman sure. If he is willing to be coached harder.

Overton is pretty average with poor defense.

Overton I'd like in a 6th man role. I think Freeman has an All-SEC ceiling

This team, as I have watched to DATE, is one that is headed for an 18-13 type record (9-9 SEC) and pushing for a good SEC tournament for NCAA purposes.

What will kill us, especially on the road and against the upper tier of the SEC on any floor is turnovers and not having a true big.

I don’t know what constitutes the wheels coming off- but if we fix turnovers or just limit wasted possessions we should be okay on that 8-10 win SEC trajectory.

I adjusted my expectations early and am just trying to enjoy the wins when they happen knowing this team is not championship caliber. Outside of not getting a true big in the portal, the biggest disappointment this year for me has been Pett's carelessness with the ball. At times he looks like Flanigan his last 2 years playing out of control. That's about the only thing that gets me pissed off while watching because we know he is way better than he is showing right now. Still hitting all the mid-week games this season and enjoying the atmosphere in the arena as we go through a rebuilding process.

You just proved you know nothing about Tahaad.

We are still learning about Tahaad. Who saw him performing like this before the season?

Not getting a true big is what is hurting this team now. Hopefully, SP can make it work as there is some talent on the team. I plan to remain positive and see how it plays out and not condemn Bruce. Even if it doesn’t end well, I will not throw BP to the dogs like the OP.

There is no acceptable excuse in the book for either Stephen or Bruce for not having two serviceable bigs considering our recent success and NIL availability

I agree with Jang. Bruce saw an opportunity and took it. I’m hoping we have an Okeke on the roster that will rise up later in the season. But I’m not counting on it.

I am a huge Bruce fan but I also have a brain. Bruce saw the opportunity to slide Steven in with least resistance.

Agree, but Bruce is also 65 years old. 65 yo's get tired of the grind and want to enjoy some stress free life. Bruce was a God send to Auburn basketball, we should be thankful. Steven will do fine, maybe just not this year, but he will do fine.
