You'll get your wish and we'll ride Thorne to a 2-3 win season. Congrats.

Keep holding onto those backup QB pipe dreams. We have a youth movement going on right now but putting a shite QB back there will actually slow down the learning curve if you ask me. Cant learn shite when your QB doesnt have wheels and averages 1 interception per 14 passes.

We could have ridden cam ward to a 7-8 win season, but that doesn’t resolve our long term issues in other areas. Look at our class right now. Where did that money come from?

That’s the point. Hugh has to budget. He decided on long term success rather than short term.

Only time will prove if he was correct.

So how may seasons is he going to tank before he pulls the rabbit out of the hat?

Man that is crazy talk. Not in todays world. You cant do that any more. The rules are not the same.

He needed to be competitive this year. We are not anything close to competitive. We will be 4-8 at best.

Agreed. In the age of NIL and the transfer portal, building for the "long term" is impossible.

A class and a half is hardly enough.

It’s baked in now. We have to give him a chance to build.

And he is building. Do you see the class we have on the docket? “Hurrr durrr but eventually losing blah blah-“ shut up. If anything recruiting is picking up. And that’s literally the solution to the problem Gus and the potato man left us with.

Dude, we are not untalented. We have guys loafing out there, undiciplined play and bone head calls/time management. How the hell did we lose to OU in the 4th quarter? Was that a talent gap?

We need to be coaching the talent we have. Teaching football. Not waiting for two more years of shiny toys. We are not some totally depleted program that doesnt have top 25 talent.

Talent is not going to fix lazy players, penalties, bone head plays, mis communications, terrible play calling and overalll undiciplined play.

Im not even talking about tonight. We were certain to get our arse handed to us by a much more talented and coached program. At the end of the year, Auburn will have 4 wins at best. Do you honestly think this program only has 4 win talent?

I’ve hear plenty of bad takes here but “recruiting doesn’t matter” is a whole new level of dumb

I don’t even know how to respond to this pablum beyond “the jimmies and joes matter more than the Xs and Os”

My guy, the solution is stocking the cupboard.

Many will also tell you that Saban was a horrible game day coach.

My guy, you need to win games to retain players.

Freshmen will not happily sit around and wait through seasons like the one we might end up with. Cam Coleman looks sloppy, low-effort, and he isn't producing - what is the over/under on him transferring out if things keep going south? These guys can leave at any moment.

Also, current HS commits will start getting antsy as the losses pile up. Florida had a Top 5 class at one point last year...until they started dropping games at the end of the season and Napier got put on the hot seat. They lost recruits and ended up with the #13 class, and this year they are sitting at #31. Recruiting momentum is not guaranteed.

YOU. NEED. TO. MAINTAIN. MOMENTUM. The only way to do that is to succeed on the field.

This is where we are now. We need players to win games. We need wins to get players. Hugh is working on the former.

Yes. All of these recruits will pan out, none will transfer and in 4 years, we'll be loaded with all of these loyal 4 and 5 star players. The portal hasn't affected the game at all. Retarded indeed.

And, again, recruiting is not only being maintained, it’s picking up.
