In game coaching and adjustments were just horrible.
Pure revisionist history. The second halves were usually better than the first with the lone exception of State.

Ever?
I think both Mason and Ellis Johnson suffer from staying with things that don't work for far too long. Mason with his 3-pressure and zone, and Ellis Johnson playing elite players normally and hoping it doesn't burn you.

Well it’s incredibly inaccurate to call Nix a mid to high 50s passer when he wasn’t even in that range, ya dumb frick. Most people would use the most recent season’s data to judge year by year progression.

Remember the 2014 Iron Bowl when he left Amari Cooper in single coverage all night? What a knucklehead.

Mason isn’t good… how he left was a mess… but him being gone is an overall plus.

He was for his first 2 seasons. Just like Finley…

Most people use like examples. So we’ll revisit after this season and compare 3 years to 3. Once again, I think they’re both mediocre and bet Ashford takes the reins eventually.
You get super angry lately bro. Hope everything is ok.
P.S. Mason sucks and Nix sucks and is a quitter

Bo's last major college football game will be tomorrow. Dude falls up.

And then that changed. Whether Finley has a better season or not doesnt change Nix’s season last year.

The most obvious “like example” is their QB play last year under the same coaching staff and with the same talent.

Ashford is a wildcard but if he is sitting third string on two different teams I’m not sure why you think he will be anything more than mediocre.
PS. Nix made Ashford quit.

It is sad that you are triggered this much by the Nix family.

Mason isn’t good…
lol okay. His career says otherwise.
As for last year:
quote:
• The Mason-led Tigers improved by 14.5% in third down defense from 2020 to move up 84 places in the final FBS rankings. Auburn also improved from the previous season in tackles for loss by 1.4 per game (up 65 places), rushing defense by 35 yards per game (up 33 places), first downs allowed by three per game (up 32 places), fourth down defense by 10% (up 21 places), sacks by .33 per game (up 13 places), scoring defense by three points per game (up 11 places) and total defense by 32 yards per game (up two places).
• The 2021 Auburn defense finished among the FBS leaders in blocked kicks (No. 10), fourth down defense (No. 13), defensive touchdowns (No. 13), tackles for loss (No. 17), scoring defense (No. 27) and rushing defense (No. 29), all while playing with an offense that finished 91st in the FBS in time of possession.
• Auburn’s 2021 defense did not allow a fourth quarter score in five of its six wins, held consecutive SEC opponents (Ole Miss and Texas A&M) without a passing touchdown for the first time since 2006, surrendered the fewest points in a two-game span (10 in the first two games) since 2007 and held six opponents under 100 yards rushing for the first time since 2010.
To think someone said he couldn’t make in game adjustments.

Not really triggered, just really don't like nepotism.

Once time you blasted him for ruining the name on your degree.
Next you said he would be 4th string at Auburn this year.
You’re triggered, buddy.
That must be the reason why he beat out Finley and the talented QBs in Oregon.

Well, Ashford isn’t sitting at 3rd string so….

Nix had itty-bitty testicles, played too much backyard football, and had a penchant for yelling at, and pissing off his teammates. Addition by subtraction.

Stop using words if you don’t know what they mean.
Auburn defense runs a bend don’t break defense. A current player said they will do that this year as well and not change philosophy nor playcalling.. Within that context then those numbers do apply.

I agree with this. He wasn't the worst DC we have had and he had some nice games. SC, MSU and PSU were pretty frustrating to watch though. I wasn't impressed with our coaching staff as a whole so I'd have been fine with just about any of them leaving.

An all too (conveniently) overlooked fact.
Real possibility here:
Nix starts for Oregon, beats UGA
Ashoford rides the pine in an all too close game vs Mercer.
The reality is Nix had to transfer across the country to have a chance of feeling what it's like to beat UGA and to play meaningful football past mid October

I just think it’s really impressive that even a thread about a DC that is no longer here will eventually turn into a Pro Nix vs Anti Nix pissing match.
It’s the Forever Nix War.
