quote:All may be true but doesn’t change the fact that the hire was a layup. Hell, majority of the board was very “meh” about the idea of hiring Hugh just two weeks ago.
This will be the first coach getting pushed the right direction by the PTB instead of being pulled in the wrong direction by them. He wanted this job, had been talking to us for weeks, so we would he have gotten other offers? There are worse paying jobs than Liberty to sit at until the right job comes. Let me give you some insight. You would need to be more worried if Gumps said we nailed the hire than shite like nobody wanted him

Any of y’all have a dad who loved grocery store pimento cheese (which I’m obsessed with now) and Vienna sausages in those tiny arse cans? Is anyone that dad?
My entire life bro. Pimento cheese is good shite. There are even different flavored pimento cheese.
Vienna sausage is what to eat when you gambled your whole check away

Jesus you’re a fricking moron.
Let me know how many of Napiers staff at Florida coached with him at Louisiana. And so on and so on

quote:Oh I agree with you. Just thinking of possible reasons he could have ended up there.. but that was my first thought as well. Truth be told I was disappointed in the hire until I looked into him more, but I'm still curious about him not getting bigger jobs
I’m not confused why he was at Indiana and UCF. I’m confused why, after those receivers, he’s not other places. That said, their loss is our gain, IMO

Yeah, you think Hugh was a splash hire?
Does it matter at this point.
He’s got a solid resume at worse. He knows how to develop relationships which will be great for building up some goodwill between Auburn and the HS’s. Others weren’t clamoring for Hugh only because of his baggage, but plenty had wanted him. Saban wanted him as his OC within a year of the Ole Miss issues. League said too soon.
You all need to stop using the line no one wanted him. That doesn’t tell the whole story why. He’s Auburn’s HC and now will either do well or won’t. I am hopeful myself but my reservation only comes from being snake bit so badly by Harsin. My gut is saying he will do well. Just don’t know how long it will take with the shite roster we have at key positions, and losing some good players to eligibility, portal, or draft.

Why wouldn't a coach bring a bunch of the coaches with him to the new, better job? He trusts them, seeing as they played a huge part in him getting that job.

Ok. When we win 10+ games don't come around here saying anything.
Seems you're a troll and nothing more

It happens with just about every coaching hire I would suspect.

It does. And the main draw for any team recruiting is the head guy. Yes you want good to great recruiters on the staff and you want some guys that great scheme and technique coaches. Every coach out there isn't great at all, rarely you find 1 that's relatively good at all phases.

I’ve been paying attention AU4you’s posts. That’s no troll.

I sometimes mix pimento cheese into deviled eggs...next level!

All yall eat some weird stuff lol.
I stick to more carnivore/keto type most of the time. My old shoulders and knees need the reduced inflammation.
But even from a kid I've never eaten any condiments. No mustard mayo ketchup no salad dressings, no sauces except BBQ sauce

But hiring Hugh Freeze was not a splash hire. Just like Chizik and Gus weren’t splash hires.
I get we are all fans but don’t try to convince yourself that this is some slam dunk, sexy hire.

Yeah, that line is extra weak sauce. Present something better, or just true.

Gus was the hot coach and a no brainer in 2013. When the put the search committee together knew it was going to be Gus and the fans wanted Gus

Yeah, that is what it is today. Sorry Freeze has been in rehab and is not Saban or Kirby yet. But he will get there.

it's a texture thing for me with sauces. I guess I like BBQ sauce because sweet based ones kind of cook onto the meat
