If he can keep the recruiting class together he should be under no immediate pressure unless the team just quits on him 2012 style. If the recruiting class falls apart and the results on the field continue it would be a difficult spot for the decision makers. According to many on this board they are happy with him but he's really done/said some odd things that don't make him very likable which is kind of against the image he was trying to portray when we first hired him as being a different guy and extremely thankful for the opportunity.

Lmao this thread is embarrassing.
Freeze has had 1 undeniable frick up so far, getting a portal qb for this year, and even that isn't totally black and white.
His past is his past and there's a couple different reasons why it's bullshite to hold that over his head. Hyperbolizing and blatantly lying about his press conferences just makes those people look like absolute hate fueled buffoons to anyone capable of reason.
I wasn't posting during the coaching search but I was underwhelmed with Freeze. I wanted kiffin and the hire looked desperate. But he's here now and I'm gonna give him every chance to succeed.
There's several posters in here that are trying to put the fact that things aren't as bad as they seem right there on your screens in black and white. But rn it's just the pro-auburn crew talking to themselves and the anti-freeze echo chamber riling themselves up. There's no real discussion.
If we fire freeze we push our competitive windows back AGAIN. And there is no objective reason to fire him rn. The class is still together and the team as a whole is improving every week record be damned. It ain't about the record yet. If we go 4-8 this year and then 8-4 next wtf did this year's record even matter??? And not a single person can give me an indisputable reason to think we won't go 8-4 next year.
Settle down mfers and learn how to watch a work in progress.

Nix sucked at Auburn. Those are the facts man. It wasn’t his fault. He was raw and needed years to develop.

And any highschool Qb we sign will suck too until he gets years of experience under his belt.
Freeze fricked up by not getting a portal Qb because he is a stubborn idiot

I don't disagree with most of your post but there's zero reason, outside of poor coaching and decision making from our head coach, we shouldn't be 4-0 right now yet we are 2-2 and one of the laughing stocks of college football.
I have no idea what will happen between now and next year but our two biggest issues, QB play and coaching, are not addressed so what gives you so much confidence things will magically turn around?

I see us losing the next three games, winning the next three and losing the last two. I hope we don’t lose to Kentucky on the road, but we will find out more once we play the next three. I don’t see any chance we end up better than 6-6 once more.

I really wish alot of our posters could come to understand that a coach doesn't have 100% control of the outcome of plays. He is in control of preparation. Execution is on the players. He's not on the sideline with Payton hooked up to an Xbox controller hitting B when he should hit Y. The game is just too fast for PT. When it speeds up all preparation goes out the window. Auburn fans are judging him based on a very small year and a third sized window. When the sample size is small you need to zoom out and find a larger one to look at. And if we want to fairly scrutinize freeze we should look at the qbs he's been successful with and that list is much longer.

I don't think he will be fired but 2025 people are going to be paying attention to his success. If he has a less than 7-8 win season it wouldn't surprise me if he's canned. 2025 he should have the right players on the field to win games. If that means high school, portal, or kidnapping, he needs to get a competent team together. I honestly think this team is better than the record indicates. It keeps coming back to coaching or lack of to me. They look terribly unprepared and predictable every game.

Do we look like a team prepared to you? We start out terribly, we make undisciplined plays, we repeat the same mistakes (both from an execution standpoint and play calling standpoint). Our coach recognizes that our QBs turn the ball over repeatedly but continues to try and sling it around.
Also, who is in charge of who plays QB? 90% of the people on this board could see the issues last year but our head coach was either unwilling or unable to address it in the offseason and was bullish on Thorne turning it around.
I'm not trying to hammer Freeze and am not calling for his head if he keeps the locker room and recruiting class together but he's been a complete failure on the field so far and there's really no way to spin it otherwise.

Dude, sit this conversation out. You and Corch were tooting the PT horn all offseason.

Bull. I called him an average QB from day one. Don't misrepresent me just because your assertion we haven't had a good QB since Stidham was called out.

We look like a young team with solid gamplans offensively and defensively. The schemes are working on both sides of the ball. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I don't think we've really been penalized that much. I know we haven't on offense. As to the he continues to throw the ball. That's always been his MO idk. And he might also be looking at the fact that we've fumbled the ball 10 times as well.

Too many behind the scenes variables that nobody is privy to to make a real judgement on the portal qb thing. And when shite hit the fan after cal he made a change. And when hank threw 3 picks in the first half he did it again.

Complete failure is such an emotional way to look at it

O line has been fine since cal and it can even be argued that alot of that was on PT. Sometimes I give you too much credit jang.

The whole offseason people said Thorne finally got his help, let's see what he can do. Turns out he got KLS to rely on, and an excuse to rail against him because the help which was supposed to help him hasnt done him any favors.
I don't understand why people are still fixated on Thorne.

Some of it was on PT. Some of it was his starting center getting graded 43 in pass protection against Cal. At what point did this conversation turn into me defending PT other than another Jville red herring.
Edit: the post you responded to I was talking about Nix's line.
