Ya now that was the definition of rebuilding what they had been through when Saban took over was shite. We have 40 something 4 stars like someone mentioned with some 5 stars sprinkled in. We aren’t rebuilding just underperforming

like Harsin and think he is a decent coach. But is not a cultural fit at all at AU. I have zero doubts he will be gone after year 3. The question is how far does he lift us or how far does he bring us down.
Since you have zero doubts, you just expect him to tank

By my count we have 3. One who just went down for the rest of the season, another who has played roughly 15% of our defensive snaps all year (and likely won’t take another) and a third who is now on his third school because he couldn’t see the field at his last stop.
We’re not bereft of talent, but stop acting like we are anything other than what we are: a mid-tier team in the first year of a major culture change.
My 6-6 prediction is looking pretty accurate. Not particularly happy with how we got here, but it is what it is. If we can somehow get TJ to play like he did last year vs SC we have a shot at 7-5, which is commensurate with our talent level vs our schedule.

Yeah, and then he questions why someone may laugh at him.
But, he knows shite.
But, he knows shite.

That prediction will probably go as well as his awful talent evaluations of high school kids. He really should stick to the 9th grade dugouts

And you should keep your shitty takes to yourself. you never bring a comment with any content except about people on the board. not even sure why you even comment because it has nothing to do with the discussion.
So tell me what prediction I have had that has been wrong? please enlighten me

Screw you man. Now I’m wearing UCF for a while and it’s your own damn fault.

I swear if we don't let Harsin and his coaches build his system like Saban had the opportunity to I'm gonna blow a fuse. This high expectation on the first or even second year of a coach with leftover remnants of the last coach needs to stop at Auburn. Things need time to develop to their full potential, especially when the last head coach was fired DURING the critical signing period of this season's recruits. I still don't know why some of you frickers try to say his recruits were bad when that was the fricking case this year.

Good, SMU beat dat arse too

The razzle dazzle may not work at commuter schools

You ok bro? You're melting about other people melting. Classic.

And about the can't recruit nor coach, he hasn't had the chance to recruit a full season yet, sure the mid season recruiting doesn't look great, but there is still time. Coaching he has done some great things, and let his coordinators do some dumb things. Right now I still give him a "B-" in coaching overall, but for his first year navigating the SEC an A-.

Yeah, these same people melting about MSU are the same ones complaining about our lack of talent.
we can't fire a coach when we have a clear disadvantage in talent.

Nah man. Solid D+ and the worst game I’ve ever seen already in his early era.

Man - I think Gus really broke a lot of you. I think the expectations on this board of a first year head coach at Auburn is incredibly unrealistic given our situation.
You all think back to Gus's first year and think that should be the norm. My goodness. He had a fancy new hurry up offense that a middle schooler could understand and execute with success. He had solid athletes, specifically a ridiculous read-option talent with Marshall, that could execute his scheme. He also had the benefit of SEC exposure before that point with the NC winning offense in 2010. So his recruiting could keep up with the success.
What happens when defenses figure out his HS offense? We all saw what happened.
Harsin has an entirely different situation to work with and it will take him more time to find success than Gus. There is absolutely a chance he doesn't ever get the success we want, but it is too damn early to make that judgement. You are all expecting recruiting and on-the-field success to come automatically when AU has to adjust to:
[X] New HC
[X] New DC
[X] New scheme on BOTH sides of the ball
[X] New culture
A realistic person would look at our situation and say, "Hey, it really sucks that we lost the way we did to MSU. But I would expect inconsistencies and struggles on both sides of the ball year one given our current situation. Should the coaches take the majority of the blame for giving up 40 straight to MSU? Absolutely. Should we call for all of their heads? Absolutely not."
But this board is filled with unrealistic expectations and zero patience. I get the frustration and desire to just funnel in 4- and 5-star recruits "because we are Auburn!"...but it doesn't happen like that in the real world. I get the frustration and desire to be consistent on the field every week...but, again, it doesn't happen like that in the real world while trying to install a new offensive AND defensive scheme.
All of you already expecting or calling for a coaching change not even a full season into Harsin's tenure can go suck a big one.
ETA: I was trying to remember where I had seen this behavior before and remembered it was my three-year-old when he wanted a toy but couldn't get it right that very second. Zero patience and zero concept of delayed gratification.

So where do you think we'd be right now with Malzahn now or in that game?
