This. Some of these love affair takes for DK just amaze me. The kid has potential, but that is all at this point. We don't even know if he is coachable since he was not coached last year.

Be nice if Deuce stays if BB transfers. I'd like to see what Deuce can do later on. He still has all his years of eligibility left.

Oh I agree, but the folks wanting to go all in on DK this season instead of getting Byrum Brown are just being a fanboy/girl for DK and not really thinking coherently. You do not pass on a 3K passer and 1K rusher at QB if that QB wants to come to AU.

And most importantly, he completely knows the offensive system. Zero learning curve other than timing with receivers.

Those numbers are better than Mendoza. Not that you can go strictly off statistics and not saying he is winning a Hiesman, but it gives some perspective.

You are correct.

Golesh has already laid out his plans to provide proof of concept year one and he will want his trusted uber talented QB for that.

Knight needs to either train and learn while counting his money or he needs to go on. If he cannot see the great opportunity before him he has been sold a foolish dream.

I dunno maybe those that like DK, watched him actually play the mercer game, and wondered why he wasn't used more. I don't see the apathy about if he left. Byrum Brown could flop too at the higher level, we don't know that, way better to have options and competition. IF BB came and DK left, then there really isn't competition is there?

And what if Deuce beats him out? You still going to riot if the highest ranking QB Auburn has ever signed out of high school beats out a kid that came from USF?

Word it however you want. Good for him if he does, I'm an Auburn fan, I dont GAF who is QB as long as he wins games.
To me, Its a guy who is proven in CFB (Had on of the best seasons for a QB ever statistically) vs a guy whos accolades are being highly raned in HS and 1 game against Mercer where we had significantly more talent at EVERY position on the field. The best part is we will find out in the fall, but Id bet Brown is qb1 for Auburn next year.

I bet if you put that Mercer QB on AUs team we would have won that game as well. That QB is pretty good. I don't think you can say the same for Mercer with Deuce running their offense.

Yes, and Deuce set school records against Mercer. Other QBs have come and went from Auburn that played the same level of competition that looked terrible against the Mercer type teams. I sat in the rain and watched Nix look pedestrian at best against Samford before, and I’ve seen other Auburn QBs look like absolute dog crap against lesser teams too. So I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Deuce beat out Brown. In fact, I’d feel more confident in the upcoming season if that happens, given the fact that Brown would enter the competition with a huge lead by already running the system before.
