Was thinking about signing up even though I think JGT is a bit of a douche.

If not, are there any other sites better?

Depends on what you want. I find that less information flows through rivals than 247, but more laid back.

If you’re going to pay... pay for 247

I have used friend's accounts on both Rivals and 24/7. 24/7 is far superior.

I am a little concerned about 24/7's future due to losing Barton Simmons to Vandy, but even so I feel 24/7 is still the superior paysite.

Best advice is to save your money and wait for our friends here to post info that they paid for from the aforementioned sites.

If I were to pay it would be for 247, but everything ends up here in a few minutes.

I typically delay recruiting news by several hours. I’ve been asked to do that so I try to make that happen. If it’s free or all across twitter or elsewhere then I just go ahead and post it with credit.

247 has the best information. They’re paid better and they have the better relationship with the university. Gus really liked them, for whatever that’s worth. The posters there are absolute dogshit, though. I don’t post there.

I find the community here much better as well.

I subscribe to 247 solely for KN, Mark Murphy, and Jason Caldwell. Those guys are much better than anyone sans Justin Ferguson.

If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative and 1 article per day, Ferguson’s Auburn Observer website at $6/month might be your best bet.

He covers strategy more than recruiting and focuses most heavily on AU football and AU basketball. His basketball knowledge is arguably the best of any beat writer.

I used to belong to 247, but cut that years ago.

Best bet is to ask Jonesy for his account info and password, and then use his account since he doesn’t post there.

Ferg is awesome. I pay for that too. You’re just not going to get recruiting stuff from them but the podcasts and articles are worth it.

al.com gets shite on but Tom Green and Giana Han are among the better combinations of writers they’ve had in a long time. Giana’s stories are really, really good. She’s not long for that platform

I can’t imagine paying to read anything about our athletics right now. I’ll just come here and read it for free with some good banter mixed in.

I think the Bunker is better and worth the monthly price. The community of posters there is tighter, and JGT's Brain Drains are fun to participate in. There is more insider info on the Bunker as well.

Gus and his paranoia that someone may want to steal his secret playbook of shite cut off the benefit of any pay site personnel attending full practice. There are no inside sources.

During the coaching search and eventual hiring of Harsin both sites had no F’in clue.

Harsin may change access...I doubt it...

If he wants more fan and media engagement then maybe he will. He’s much more involved in social media than Gus....we’ll see

The Bunker is much more entertaining than 247. But, 247 has better info and write-ups.

He seems to enjoy interviews so I’m sure he’ll develop some strategic sources. What he discusses doesn’t seem to be anything that would be counterproductive, but it does give some insight to his plan. I’ve enjoyed it

247 might be better football information. Bunker does better with basketball. Bunker's boards are much more entertaining than 247 though.

Just curious, but did any of the premium boards have Hars on their radar during the coaching search?

I'm an ITAT subscriber. I don't remember anyone specifically mentioning Harsin, but I believe Mark Murphy did note that he wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be someone completely off the radar. Mark is not one to speculate or just post crap for clicks, but if you read between the lines...
