I've said this a few times, but if you want Freeze, just hire Jeff Lebby.

He runs an evolved version of the HUNH, with an arguably better route tree and blocking schemes, and he has also been a pretty high level recruiter as well.

Beyond that, IDK. I've also stated my fandom of Kane Wommack at USA, but he's definitely not a "splash" hire if that's what people are going for.

What he did at MSU was equally impressive, and he didn't get caught paying for players to do it.

And his 11 wins at UF in 2019 was a hell of a lot more of an accomplishment than Freezus's 10 wins at Liberty in 2020.

What's your objection to Mullen? We could certainly hire him, and he would also be an improvement over Harsin.

Then you have to look at Lane Kiffin’s buyout. That’s what takes Dave Aranda out of the discussion. What is LK’s buyout?

Hugh Freeze would be stupid. We fired Gus for being exactly what Freeze is...but Gus won the SEC and had zero scandals. Seems like a $40 million step backwards. Make Aranda and Kiffin say no, then Deion. Any other hire lacks effort or intent to try something new to turn this around

He inherited a 4-7 team, then had back-to-back double-digit win seasons, finishing in the top 10 both years, and turned a kid who didn't even start for his highschool team into a Heisman Trophy finalist.

But he 'failed miserably'.

Please tell me what Freeze has accomplished at Liberty that in any way compares to Mullen's accomplishments at UF.

ETA: I am in no way advocating that AU hire Dan Mullen as its next HC. However, that would be a major improvement over Hugh fricking Freeze.

You need to understand that if you cheat to win & get caught, it doesn't matter if you won the BCS or CFPO or the superbowl. Once you're busted, everything is vacated.

So you can post "on field" results. But if the result is due to an illegal advantage and is vacated, you cannot point to those results and claim they're valid.
