I hated Gus. But if Freeze is where we land, why not have just saved the $40 million of buyouts, pump it into NIL, keep Gus, and call it even?

Freeze has his best season with an unbelievably talented QB, and hovers around 8-5 otherwise. If only we could have found a guy capable of that

On paper Freeze looks like the safest bet between the 2.
But the question is can he recruit equally as well when he no longer has the cheating advantage.
Can he also recruit as well after his buckteeth grew another inch.

I see what you did there. Because they're both exactly the same. They develop QBs the same. They coach the same. They recruit OL and skill positions the same. Theyre both exceeding expectations at their new gig, right? They're EXACTLY the same, right?

I'm not endorsing Freeze at all but did he really? He got caught but I honestly don't believe he was doing anything, sans the hookers, that every other school that traditionally recruits well was doing.
