Let's say you are a coach, with aspirations of moving up in the world. You make it to the level where big time P5 schools are considering you for a coordinator position. You turn down the other offers, and go to work FOR THE GUY WHO HAS ONLY BEEN COACHING FOR A FEW YEARS, AND NEVER AT ANY FBS SCHOOL?
If Sanders were to get hired, his biggest recruiting obstacle will not be for good players, it will be for good coaches.
Current staff has an NFL DC, an up-and-coming OC from the Air Raid tree, a well-respected coach in Tim Brewster, and numerous other coaches who have worked for the likes of Lane Kiffin, Houston Nutt, and Rex Ryan.
I don't think he'll have any issues recruiting coaches with an open checkbook.

He has a former NFL DC as his DC at Jackson State.
I really like how some are throwing around the idea of a CEO-type coach that can hire the best coaches and consistently recruit the best players.........based on his 18 months coaching in the FCS.
Malzahn and Harsin have broke some brains around here. Whole lot a wishful thinking, with the "I'm going to get rich, because I bought a lottery ticket" mentality.

Based on his results of assembling a staff and recruiting to a lower level team at a level higher than some P5 schools and G5 world-beaters.

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
I'd rather take a shot than go for a retread like BOB.

I think the worst thing about this Harsin thing, is when he'll go somewhere else, do really well, and make Auburn as a whole look terrible--just my Oracle vision.
That is one of the most Auburn fan things I have ever read. And over the years I have heard it so many times it makes me sick. Can anyone point me to any time this has ever happened?
Two words to describe our fan base as a whole: soft and scared

I knew that name but nary a second thought about it. Same for Harsin’s name before he was hired.
That DC has coached Polamalu and a host of other defenders at USC into becoming professional athletes. As well as Revis and Cromartie ingo becoming All-Pro. The guy has defensive knowledge for days.
The guy is clearly just as much capable as our Schmedding. There are some things you can fearmonger over and over, but if he assembles coaching staff with our resources, his staff won’t be on one of them.

Tubs never rose above mediocrity at TTU and Cincy. Bowden took a decade off, then coached at DII UNA and Akron before finding himself at LAMO.
Harsin may be more successful elsewhere, but I'm starting to doubt his ability to run a program despite his record at BSU. That program is in the dumpster now too.

You misinterpret, I'm not saying I want to keep Harsin here. I believe he can't be successful here with how he functions with his relationships. It's very nepotism-like when it comes to hiring a bunch of people that did him favors in the past.

Yes, he’ll go to somewhere like ASU and win 7-8 games per year in an awful, uncompetitive conference and the media will do what they do as usual.
And many weak Auburn minds will choose to believe it.

I just saw over on the rant that iron puppet does not like or support the Prime hire at all. That should tell you all you need to know. If you are not on the train, all aboard!

Yeah, that's an accurate description of Hugh Freeze.

Here, I'll help you out:

Tell me again, what has Sanders accomplished as a college coach?
Won a Conference Championship in his 2nd year as a HC, created a $30m economic impact for the city his school is in, raised the profile of his program, and also signed the #1 Recruiting Class in his division of football.
And, that is a nationally running ad campaign featuring Coach Prime alongside arguably the greatest HC in CFB history.
Remember when Bruce got here, and the first thing he did was go on NATIONAL TV ALL THE TIME to help raise the brand of his program?
Getting yourself in the homes of recruits by any means necessary is not a terrible strategy.

You've convinced me. I'm now ready to take the dumpster fire, that has been Auburn football over the last 3 years, and turn it over to someone who just started coaching football. That sounds like a really good idea.

Glad you can see the light comrade.
We all come to the right realization eventually.

Dude, that's harsh. Even for me.
Although, not being here during the LSU, UGA, and Ole Miss games might be beneficial to one's mental health.

It wouldn’t even be that hard to convince me not to hire Deion. You just go about it in completely the wrong way which just puts on the side of always defending Deion.
I think there’s somewhere in between Vince Lombardi and signing a few players. Maybe.
