Whoever we hire should get carte Blanche to succeed or fail with his coaches.

It is what it is.

I hope we win every game.

Our RBs are doing incredible. Pretty sure they lead country in YAC.

Tank had 62 YAC in the Mizzou game.

He ran for 44 yards total.

yeah Hartwell from Utah State. Believes it'll happen very soon. There's urgency according to him

Not to mention most of his family attended AU and his dad and grandad are football season ticket holders according to hoke. Hartwell really impressed Roberts according to hoke

He's the one that I posted an article about back at the end of August who expressed interest in the job both with 247 and AL.com.

So is this good or bad? Utah state and Troy are no Auburn, there’s a lot more work required for a school of this level.

No personal opinion on him, but someone on on3 commented they went to Troy while he was AD and said he did a great job of garnering fan support after it had waned and got people who hadn't previously donated to donate. They think he'll be a great hire and have everyone pull in the same direction.

He is also apparently a "voice" for NIL and I think testified before Congress on it, and Hoke said Roberts was very impressed with him.

ETA: found this posted on on3 by a poster named spartanbacker about his qualifications

quote:

Lifelong Auburn fan
-D1 basketball player at The Citadel
-4 years of Big 8 (80's) public accounting experience
-Assistant Athletic Director at Ole Miss
-Athletic Director at Troy for 3 years. Hired Neil Brown at Troy.
-Athletic Direct at Utah State for the past 8 years.
-$40MM Annual Budget
-All sports extremely competitive
-Graduation rates are on track
-Testified before Congress two years ago on the issue of Name, Image and Likeness
-Understands NIL more than most and understands the importance of creativity in terms of maximizing NIL opportunities for the student athletes
-Deep rooted ties with the SEC office
-Relationships with the bowl games
-Relationships in government at the state level in Alabama and the national level in Washington D.C.
-Adept at fundraising and recognizes the importance of developing relationships throughout the alumni base
-AD experience helps with the not so glamorous side of the job including managing budgets, dealing with Title IX issues, sexual harassment issues, etc. that require a skill set that only gets developed thru experience
-Although he loves Auburn, he brings a fresh, independent perspective to Auburn that provides a chance to unify the various factions of our splintered fan base

MSN is reporting that Hartwell is being pursued by Georgia Tech as well. Considering his AU ties, I think AU should be able to win this battle.

So get rid of Bruce and Butch so he can bring in his coaches?
Or just your way of giving another reason to get rid of Harsin.

Let’s face it. Harsin will not be here long, that decision was made in February but hasn’t been finalized yet.

I think he was saying let the new Head Coach decide who he wants as assistants
