Meh. UConn is a good team. Liberty just had their biggest win of the program.

Did you really just say UCONN is a good team?

JM has done a really good job there. Three of their loses were to Michigan, NC State and Syracuse. Their QB is athletic and can sling it. It isn't shocking they beat Liberty. They aren't UMASS.

That source said today he believed Kiffin would ultimately remain at Ole Miss, a sentiment a couple of other sources with knowledge of the situation agreed with. Kiffin, everyone agrees, covets the Alabama job, and he knows that dream goes poof if he takes the Auburn gig.
So he is basing this of sentiments of sources?
Kiffin is always gonna be the 4th best team in the West at OM, he’ll even Harsin beat his arse last year and almost pulled it off with this years squad. If we hire a competent coach Kiffin will get beat every year by us. He knows this and has pretty much admitted it in his complaints about money etc from the OM AD. Bama is gonna continue the tradition of hiring a NC winning coach and hire Dabo when Saban leaves. Kiffin has never one a P5 co fervency title. He knows that and we are the best shot at getting him there in the next 2-3 years.

They are much improved under Mora. I believe that they are bowl eligible. When compared to UConn over the past 5-10 years this team is much, much improved.

No doubt they’re improved but good? Nah.

UConn, led by Jim Mora, Jr, is a good team.
Liberty's biggest win in program history is over a 5-4 Arkansas team.
Not their win over the #12 team in the country in the 2020 Cure Bowl. No, that's not as big as their win over Arkansas.
Maybe they would've beaten UConn if Hugh hadn't spent last week searching his name on Twitter at 1 AM, along with texting his reporter buddies about how Auburn should hire him.

I think Hugh is good for an unexpected win or two a season. He's also good forban inexplicable loss or two

You just described Gus AND Tubs.

Yep. More of the same. I think people forget how frustrating Gus was because Harsin was so bad.
And How do these guys know Bama is Lane's dream job? Does he walk around his current job saying it?

Is the Bama job following Saban really that attractive? He knows how those fans are, anything less than perfect and all he will hear about is how Saban would have done better.
10 wins a year at Auburn gets you a statue. 10 wins a year at Bama gets you fired for having 2 losses

I'm with you. The attractiveness increases after the coach who gets run off after Saban

It didn’t for Bill Curry ??

He got fired for losing to Auburn

I feel like that job is forever tainted. The next coach can win five titles and still only be the third best coach. The next coach could win seventy percent of the games and still be fired.

“Being the guy that follows”
-heavy expectations
-still can be rewarding
Didn’t Les win a title at LSU immediately right after Saban left?

Took a few years. I think bama expectations will be too high for anyone to do well there unless they are truly a great coach. Saban has set the bar so high for them. I mean sure they will have the resources but the reason they are so good is because of Saban and the processes/systems he has put in place. That all goes out the window when he is gone. Idk, I just think it’s a little different than following him at LSU. What he has done at Alabama is unprecedented and I don’t know if Alabama fans will be patient enough with the next guy
