Don’t want freeze, lashlee, grimes. I hope we aim higher. These kids deserve someone great.

It’s Kiffin, man. It’s KIFFIN.

He could not have made it more clear with that statement that he'd take the job if the offer was right. Auburn has the resources to make that "right" offer.

It might also make the SEC more likely to want him back after beating one of their schools at a little program. Lessens the blackeye.

Freeze is one of four we should have already been on the phone with

Lane, Deion, or Freeze have to be the choice. Knowing Freeze knows Auburn from Gus, and wants the job this bad makes me think we need to give it a chance

Cohen isn’t gonna hire Freeze. Cohen was involved with the whole Leo Lewis deal and getting Freeze turned in to the NCAA. You don’t hire a guy you ratted on for cheating like hell.

That’s what I’m thinking as well.

Then who will we hire?

After thinking about it, I would say Cohens statement about “having control” when he was hired surely eliminated Freeze. He surely told boosters that Freeze wouldn’t be an option if he was hired. I am also guessing as most have that Conen told, them he didn’t want to fire Harsin (optics). So he needed to be gone when Cohen came on board.

I think you are trying to read to many minds around here.
I don't know why we are so up in arms. We just fired the worst coach in Auburn history and things will be looking up soon. It may take a couple years but the turn happened last week. We will know who our coach in in a few weeks and except for factions of the fanbase being butthurt that their choice wasn't the person hired I think we will be headed in the right direction regardless of the way the people that will be doing the hiring choses.

I think we can get Kiffin, it’s just whether he wants to wait out Jimbo or Saban. He has to know Ole Miss will never commit the resources it takes to get to the level of UGA, Bama and ATM, however we could. I think all,the eggs have to be in the Kiffin basket right now.

I’m curious what you guys think if you were a coach.
Would you want to go somewhere like Alabama or Ohio State where you have the tradition, prestige, resources, brand, etc but also the expectation of championship or bust. Or would you want to go somewhere like an Auburn where you have all those things but maybe not quite as high, and a little less pressure, to make your mark and be different. Does my question make sense?
I think about places like Texas or Nebraska where you have all those things and media consider it a “destination” job but if you look at how they’ve done over the past decade or so, it’s more of a career killer than an opportunity.
What got me thinking about this is the comments people have made about Lane - how they think he may be wanting to wait until Alabama opens up (if they’ll have him). I think it probably varies by person and their ego/drive/desires but just curious to hear everyone else’s inputs.
