I could get behind Rhule or Grimes if he could hire a great staff. I think that is a good as we can hope for given the situation. I don't think Kiffin happens. Would not be opposed to it, but I don't see that.

No, I just saw the attempted bro hug by Prime while watching ‘College Football Final.’

Thanks for clarifying

I have no doubt that we bunt with some lukewarm coach.

We don't have the smarts to pay upfront for a coach. Instead, we have to pay on the backside with buyouts.

ETA- that's why we should enjoy this time. Everything is still a possibility. Soon, we'll be explaining to each other why HC______ was a good hire.

Don’t know how well he would do in the SEC but I like Ryan Day of OSU.

Believe he has proven to be a damn good football coach that does it right in all aspects needed for the role. He obviously needs to win a NC to solidify it but the guy is 40-4 in 3 1/2 seasons I believe, and his recruiting is always top 5 except for his inaugural season.

Believe he has proven to be his own man beyond what Urban left him. Damn good offenses and competent defenses. Great WR’s and QB’s. OL is always stout.

I mean if we are dreaming and all.

You’re welcome but I want to emphasize that was Robinson’s point of view I shared. Based on that I get his reaction.

Auburn is not good at hiring football coach's. But they excel at buyouts. You are right, the money is always going out the wrong end at Auburn.

If we somehow scored Rhule, I'd forgive us for the Gus/Harsin sin.

Here's the rub with Kiffin and people with short memories. Kiffin hasn't really done anything at Ole Miss. Yes they have improved in comparison to Luke, but right now, that's the only feather in his cap. Meanwhile, he still a poon hound and has never won anything, anywhere, as a HC. Y'all forget about his stint at USC with all the talent coming out of those rich recruiting grounds? Do we beat Ole Miss last year, if Kiffin doesn't go for it, repeatedly, on 4th down ON HIS SIDE OF THE 50?

Rhule would be my first choice, as an established coach. Ciganetti as an up and comer. I'd love to get Dave Aranda, but that would basically take a blank check and complete control. Our PTB may be okay with the money, but the other thing.......

Thanks for the article.

I can see both sides of the coin. I still don’t blame Robinson for not wanting to do a bro hug though.

I mean the article points out that Sanders etiquette is questioned.

Does Sanders swag bother me altogether? Not at all and I believe he is using his fame to better the HBCU’s overall appeal and up their game. I think he should just shake hands unless he has an existing relationship.

That same smug swag is why Cam rustled so many jimmies.

Cam and Prime are winners. Period.

ETA: That confidence and swag definitely sells not only on the recruiting trail but in all aspects in life.

Yes and no at USC. I believe he was handicapped with some scholarship limitations due to existing sanctions when he took over. It was a bigger hurdle than he even knew. I think people forget that about his USC stint. If someone deserved more time I believe he did in that situation, but admittedly he was quite immature as well.

He is an intriguing figure for me and not the top of my list guy but I would be open to see what he could do here should that occur. I’m not as opposed to him as I once was, but I still have reservations.

I feel Rhule and Sanders would be the best two to get a seat in front of 5* talent.

You can’t take snippets of lanes career that you don’t like. Look at it as a whole.

Hired by USC Hired by UT hired by Bama likely Bamas next HC hired by Ole Miss.

Yet he’s not good enough for us? Cmon man

No one out there is walking through our door and winning with this roster. We need someone that can hit the portal and the trail and get us back to winning 8,9,10 games a year. He could definitely do that and would be happy to leave Ole Miss

And I don’t care what he did or how many games he lost 8 years ago at USC or UT that would be like saying we should hire Gus because he went undefeated in 2013. Kiffin is winning now

Meh I’m sure the PTB could figure something out. He would definitely listen. The only thing hurting is with Lane is if his agent knows of a bigger job coming up i.e Bama Tamu

That's fair.

Although there are plenty of examples of coaches doing the half hug. Hell, Harsin and Kirby did it on Saturday, and you can damn sure bet that those two aren't friends (mostly because Harsin's friends are all paid and work for him).

You think Ole Miss would just give us a pass on 10MM/year? Serious question.
