@Florida was a great coaching job.

That's three games.

It's Pearl's fault for showing what we can do I guess

Coaching

Was in the cards when you are replacing virtually the whole roster whether it was Bruce, Steven, Phil Jackson, or Todd Golden.

I think we'd all say last season was worth it.

Too clarify, it does NOT mean SP gets a pass for this season.

I'm just saying I need more data on SP before I write him off. C Minus on the season. Really tough schedule but he should have done better.

We are for sure more talented than a number of teams we have lost to. If we won even half of those games we would be comfortably in the tournament, probably like a 6-7 seed where we belong and where I believe Bruce would have had this team.

I want to see him make moves on staff and recruiting. I'll judge him more hardly next year

Seriously? The mod here was more interested in comparing him to Jon Sheyer and completely dismissed the notion that Pearl being the son as irrelevant

This roster can easily get a lot worse.

This guy gets it.

If you think this years roster is bad, wait until you see next years roster.

Prediction: If we miss the tourney this year, next year will be a 3 win SEC season.

Might have been true 5 years ago.

But overnight in college football & basketball, proof of concept is only like 15% of roster assembly & recruiting. I don't pretend to know what our NIL budget is or who we are going to hire as GM but if our NIL budget stays the same or improves there's a good chance our roster and season could as well. What I do know is that much of our current budget is tied up into 2 players that a roster ought not be built around.

I am sure Steven the bringer of JP Pegues will get it right this time.

So we nail him for his misses but don't give him credit for the all-americans he was the primary recruiter on

Every coach has some misses and unfortunately there were too many on this roster

There were three misses. The rest are or can be SEC level basketball players.

And those all americans didnt come to play for mini either.

Agreed, the issues with this roster aren't the hits vs misses as much as it is the roster construction.

Ok, but he was the primary recruiter for our most decorated player in the modern era and Pegues didn't come to play for "mini" either. Just saying you can't punish him for one and not give him credit for the other.

Peues was the only player that Steven received premature praise for. The rest were already players when Steven was praised.

Steven's level of success of recruiting is to be determined. Recruiting for a hall of famer is not that hard.

I've got no problem with you, Marshall and Co.

If you want my attention you need to do better than that
